The Always Hyper
Ello internet land! As always when I seek out a new species of critter, a forum is the first place I go :p (though in this case it's 4 days later)

I'm Katt, and I just finally got myself a corn snake as it was my birthday over the weekend and I've been wanting to for ages. (I was being picky with set up and breeders, but the time was finally right!)

I'm a bit of a creature lover (current count is 2 dogs that were originally fosters that I couldn't let go and wound up adopting named Ruby (2) and Kalysta (3.5), a tarantula who is turning 22 sometime this year that I've had since 1994 named Tiberius, an almost 4 year old chinchilla I've had since a kit named Mikro and now Archimedes, a ridiculously chill corn snake who is around 6-7 mos old.) and my interests are pretty varied in everything from music genres, book genres and random facts.

Anyways. Hi. Nice to meet you. ^_^;;

Hello and welcome! Sounds like a nice crew you have!

I'm afraid of spiders but did help my brother research tarantulas a few years ago when he was thinking about getting one and they are fascinating creatures for sure! I was also very surprised to learn that most females can live up to 40 years, although males are much shorter lived. Almost made me want one, LOL! But I'm still afraid of them and my husband is very phobic, so probably never will.

Thanks for the welcomes!

I found that having Tiberius since I was a kid definitely helped me not be afraid of spiders, I always just figured they were neat :) (I HIGHLY recommend them as pets)

Am I allowed to link images in here to introduce my gang? I haven't had a chance to fully explore the forum just yet (Internet connection seems to be misbehaving a bit)

Yeah, you can post pictures of your other critters either in your intro thread or in the General Chit Chat sub forum.

Hello and welcome to the forum, and to Cornsnakes! They are fun to keep, and beware, you cannot have just one! Before lone, you will find yourself with another, and another... LOL

Hahaha I hear you there. I already am anticipating more once I've gotten my feet under me with Archimedes!

Anywho, here's the gang:

Ruby and Kalysta:

Tiberius:

Archimedes:

And me! :)

Welcome :)

Did not know tarantulas could live that long either... I'm not sure how to feel about that :S (but points on the name ;D)

Hi! I am also not a spider lover, but I think tarantulas (behind glass or in pictures lol) are so cool looking. I saw a real pretty one for sale and (jokingly) told my husband I was thinking of adding a couple to my "exotic" collection. He answer was "No! I'll put up with the snakes and the lizards but I'm drawing the line there. If you bring a giant spider into this house I'm moving into the barn".

Your furbabies and scalebaby are all adorable!!
