Go Ahead, Make My Day!
Nothing too special about this guy (looks like a male, but I haven't probed him yet). I found him crossing the road about 3/4 mile from my driveway yesterday on my way to the store. Luckily, I've had a shoebox sized container, complete with air holes, in my SUV for the past 3 years, just in case. This is the first wild corn I've seen around here for about 5 years. Unless someone is really interested in him, I'll just give him a meal or two, deworm him and then let him go. I will probe him, just to make sure, as if it is in fact a female, I would keep her, just to test breed her to see if she is might be related to one of the multiple escapees I've had over the years.

I have other photos, but need to reduce the KB as they are just a little too large.

What a little cutie! I love his black snowflake on his head. Good thing I've only found one; I'd have a hard time putting him back even though I don't need any normals and haven't had great luck with WC animals...

He pretended to be a cobra when I first approached him, but as soon as I picked him up, it was as if he been accustomed to being handled since hatching, even settling in to the container as if it was home. Most of my '08 and '07 CB corns aren't as docile!
 
I found a Pinellas county little girl about 1 year ago,

and now Bandit is part of the clan ... I can't beleive how the marking differ so much and they were found within 2 counties of each other ..... Great find .....
 
This is my Alachua County normal, Maizey! Who has been super-friendly since the second I found him, and who actually comes to the front of his cage when "called."

Nanci, that's a sweet looking snake too. I will be off to look for the Alabama version shortly(as soon as this cold snap passes). I wonder how they differ in appearance???
 
lol If you were to go to Florida, with all the snow birds, you might find your more at home than you think. At least in the Winter Time.

Ya know...it's funny....his belly looks like it's showing one of those mysterious "het blood" markers with the white line down the center.....
 
Someone in another section of the forum was talking about "frosting",(the white areas in the saddles, they were concerned if it was normal or not) You might wanna add this pic to that forum and let them know that even wild caught snakes can have frosting. He/she is so nice, Nice find.
 
Wow - I love this thread! To me, here in the UK, it reads like a fairy tale to find a wild corn... They are all gorgeous! Susan - you take some beautiful photos bytheway. The little one seems like a right poser :)
 
nice. i am not for capturing wild animals to keep. but thats because i dont live where i can find corns. haha. i dont know if i would give him/her up. looks really nice. on w/c i have is a brazilian bcc. and shes been a hassel. after 4 regurges i finally got her to hold down a rat pink for the last week. knock on wood. good find and great pics. thanks for sharing.
