When I first got him, he was housed in a small icecream tub. Now he is housed in a bigger wooden vivarium with sliding glass doors.

we got Loki in a 2ftx1ftx8in plastic pet keeper, but once he gets a bit bigger we got a monster 4ftx2ftx2ft wooden vivarium.

might take him a while to get into the viv. however the speed he's settled so far it may not be a problem

you think that's a joke but I met someone (in califorina) who told me he kept his uromastyx in a duffel bag. I don't think he was joking, I couldn't bare to ask if it was temporary, if the answer was 'no' I wouldn't know what to do - between thinking it wasn't right but not knowing enough about uromastyx's to argue a point.

If that's true that's disgraceful... I doubt anyone could be that moronic and careless but you never know.

I'm getting a female Royal Python on Tuesday and I'm keeping her in a 36" x 18" x 24". I can't wait. :D
 
My girl is in a glass viv right now. Probably if I get to larger numbers of snakes I'll start using a plastic rack system, but even then I think I'll have a few in the glass.
 
I voted other because we actually use a combination of all three. We have glass vivs (Display), a wooden viv (Display) and utilize bins in our rack systems. ;)

I put "other" becase i've got one in a 20 long glass aquarium, and two hatchlings in their own kritter keeper type containers. I've just started pricing plastic tubs at the local stores for when the two little ones get a bit bigger. Plus I'm planning on getting a fourth corn snake soon! I just don't have the money/space for three more glass aquarium vivs. hmmm....maybe i should just cave in now and get a rack :rolleyes:
 
I started with glass tanks but switch over to home made viv to custom fit them in a certain location in my home.
I don't think one is better than the other, just what works better for the owner. As long as as it a good size for the snake.
 
I just bought a baby ghost cornsnake named it Poe lol long story about the names. I now am the proud owner of two cornsnakes. I housed the first one in glass its name is Bob lol. I moved it to a tub today because the other one is too small to live with Bob right now. So one is living in a tub and the small guy in a glass tank. I am making a viv. to fit them both in once Poe is large enough to live with Bob.

I agree, but I'll add escape proof. I don't want to see any more "my snake escaped!" threads. I would love home made ones, I keep thinking of it. My glass vivs can't stack, take up room and are so heavy. I'm just not that handy, I'll have to put a lot of thought into it.

Um, That's a whole new question and should have it's own thread. Except that topic has been done to death and there is no need for a new thread about it. Just do a search if you need more info, most peoples opinions are in the link I gave you. I'm sure people do co-hab, I suggest you read the link I gave previous and maybe PM someone if you want more info.
(I would strongly suggest not doing it at all).

I've got five in glass, and two in plastic custom cages. The plastic cages are beautiful, but they are harder to keep cool in the summer.

Lol, what he said ^^^^^ except my BP is in a 30 gallon breeder Critter Cage, my first corn is in a 20 long Critter Cage, the lizard is in a 75 long, and the breeder rats inhabit the Critter Cages I moved the snakes out of. I have the rest of the snakes housed in Rubbermade and Sterilite tubs, stacked on ornate wire racks...
 
Most are in my rack that holds two different size rubbermaid containers..I keep the smaller babies in one size and the yearlings and up in larger ones.

But I do have two snakes till in 30gallon L still just out of laziness to move them at the moment and the fact that once I get those empty my son will want some new reptile :grin01:
