I love naming my Corn Snakes! Sometimes I think of names for snakes before I even have them and save them for the perfect snake. I also like to name snakes in pairs. Here are a few of mine..
Olive and Oak - I named the first two Corns I purchased after a few years of not owning snakes after two street names that had been very influential in my life. Oak St. and Olive St. are two streets in Eugene where significant changes occurred in my life.
Lyra Silvertongue and Iorek Byrnison - Characters from the
His Dark Materials trilogy - an AWESOME series I will never get tired of.
Cindel - The girl from
Ewoks: The Battle for Endor, a movie I LOVED as a child. (This snake is no longer in my collection, and no I do not have a Wicket.)
Ender - Character from
Ender's Game series.
Haight and Ashbury - More streets! Kind of dorky and cliche, but I like it.
Eleanore Rigby and Sgt. Pepper - Another kind of silly cliche one, but it's just so cute! Also I used to be able to play Eleanore Rigby on the violin.
Copperhead and Cottonmouth - I named two of my snakes after hots because at the time I was living with a now ex and his father. His father was raised out on a farm where venemous snakes were a real fear. Every time he saw my corns, or saw me looking at picturse of corns (which was all the time consitering how much time I spent on the forum) he'd launch into stories of venemous snakes, and warn me that my snakes would some day kill me. :sidestep:
Sometimes I like to name snakes after physical characteristics they have. Here are a few examples.
Rorschach - An awesome Sunkissed Motley with a really sweet head pattern that reminds me of a Rorschach blot pattern test.
Maybe not the sharpest image, but here's a picture of the guy.
Wolverine - Named for her "X" head pattern. This reminded me of the X men, and even though she's a girl Wolverine just felt right as a name.
A few names I'd like to use but don't have enough snakes for are...
Magenta and Riff Raff - Just a cute pair name, probably good for a pair of Bloods.. a morph I don't really need more of!
Vash - After Vash the Stampede. Would be best used on a Lava or something with the "red factor", because.. well.. Vash wears a
red coat.
Alright, that's probably enough names for one post.
