Whats to HOT??

I usually aim for a warm side temp of 82-84F. A little cooler in summer in case the room heats up. Snakes are why my AC bill is horrible...

Snakes are why my heat bill is horrible! Keeping room temp above 65* in the winter is hard work...

well I have no central heat and air so my room usually stays only a couple degrees warmer than oputside I live in south louisiana in the toe of louisiana actually and so It doesnt usually get horribly cold.... BUT I still want to keep him comfortable I put him in a huge rubbermaid container cuz I figured it would be warmer than having him in a cold tank with a "open" top.... but I know I still needed heat for him... he is doing fine he ate thursday and pooped today no regurge or anything and doesnt seem stressed at all.. so so far all is well.. Thanks u guys u have been a huuuuuge help.... ya'll are like gods to me LoL

Yea no heat my moms been out of work since dec and Im working at the wonderful world of walmart makin $7.90 an hour with a shIIIt load of bills.. so I have to cut back on somethings.. we have gas heaters but we only use them when its really cold and only for like 2 hours a day.... Im not complaining tho.. I know there are people that have it just as bad or even worse im not the only one struggling specially not these days...

If you can't afford to properly care for your snake, don't get a snake. I would just make sure the room temp stays above 70 for now and you need higher eat when it's digesting.

I tend to agree with Stars on this issue. There were some nice folks on here offering UTHs to those who can't afford them right now. It was in one of the *lovely* COerriccaRN threads. Maybe they will pop up and help you out with the heating issue.

well at the time I was able to afford the snake.. I understand that now I am a little unstable I am not trying to treat him cruelly and I do have intentions on placing him if I cant properly care for him.. I asked for some advice I didnt ask for all that but thanks anyways

1TimeMoM,

I'm a noob but I think people thought you just got your corn. Do you have proper thermometers to make sure your corn is not too cold? I don't think it matters what temperature your house is as long as both sides of his viv are at good temperatures. I'm not enough of an expert to tell you what optimum is (the folks here are though!) but he doesn't live in the house, he lives in his viv, and running heat tape is ~cheap~. PM me, OK?

Dude, I have rolls of 4 inch flex. I can't "give" you connectors, but I'd mail ya heat tape if you have 'em. Or if you are are willing to pony up for some connectors, I'll send that at cost.
