WIR?

In my absence the last few weeks I've had the WIR in the back of my head wondering if things were getting posted or not and whether any drama had developed over it. It appears the WIR has gone the way of the dodo bird and isn't necessarily as important as it once was. Three weeks since the last WIR and not a single complaint registered. :shrugs:

I know I didn't update the author list, but noone seems too concerned about that either. Not a big deal. Just an observation.

I've been mentally squealing and squirming about this.

I was actually demanding with myself to start silently making a WIR come Sunday morning/evening (depending on my sleep schedule then) and then either surprising everyone in a week or PMing someone.

*coughs* I like the WIR.

I got tired of mentioning it.

I'm wary about complaining, because I don't have the skills to make a WIR myself but have always enjoyed them. If members were willing to start it up again I'd be doing the happy dance though!

I miss it too. I also lack the skills to do it.

I volunteered. If it's started up again, I'll be happy to give it a shot. (Although the first ones will take me a loooong time lol)

Well, is it over with or not? If it is, then I can't see the reason for allocating a separate forum for this purpose.

So someone either needs to step up to the plate or this will all be gone.

Seriously, this is exactly the reason why I am reluctant to set up specialized forums of this nature. They nearly always get abandoned when the originators sooner or later lose interest.

I thought I'd give my input. It took forever for me to do the WIR when it was my turn. Then with the holidays, I totally forgot. Maybe we could to a WIR but re-vamped? Maybe do a weekly pool on cool threads or pictures or something?

I agree Rich. I got tired of having to remind adults who volunteered to write WIR's each week. On top of that the general forum population doesn't seem to have missed them enough to make a big deal about it.

Rich, do you think the forum would benefit any if we change the WIR to a guide/article forum? Just throwing it out there at 1:30 in the morning. Lol

There's no law that says that if the WIR forum is gone, and someone has a burning desire to make one, they can't post it in GCC.

Maybe the WIR area can stay as an archive of some sort? I enjoy occasionally diving into old ones and seeing what was going on then.
