Miami het Cinder x Miami het Cinder :)

Congrats on hitting the odds!

Congrats on your Cinder!

wow!!! congratz on that Cinder!!!!!!

:dancer: Thank You. I couldn't stop staring at my home grown beauty yesterday ♥ That spooky head peace is really neat, I find everything about that little one perfecto

Of course not to say I'm not smitten with those Miami's... their super perfect squarey saddles, most of them have these neat trident like head designs... I really cannot wait for them to shed so I get to see what they really have to show off :crazy01:

How's the baby doing, Lore? Is his underside okay?? I've been worried about him.

Well... yesterday I had thought it looked better when I put him in on his own :( when I took him out today to change out his damp papertowel & check on 'him' to *me* it certainly looks like the poor lil' fella has a hemipene hanging out :awcrap: it looks abit dry today, yesterday it was not... geez, I certainly do not want it to fall off  although I'm not sure how I could encourage it to retract either. If I come near the area he will 'musk? or wee... or whatever' So it seems his bits function in that regard.

I tried to get more detailed photos to help show what I am seeing incase anyone else has run into this. Thanks.

should I try putting him in some warm water? for a lil' bit? :shrugs: It looks to me like something is stuck to it... a small piece of moss perhaps...

I'd put him on really wet paper towels. I wonder if you should soak him in sugar water. I would actually call Kathy Love and ask her what to do.

It does look like a hemipene. If it is already dry, it may be too late. I have heard of some people having success with sugar, although I never tried it myself. The few times I have seen this, I kept the snake for a day or two on very damp towels, and sometimes it went back in. But by the time I saw it, usually it was too late, and the dried out organ fell off. Of course, the good news is that they have an extra one, so can usually go on to become good breeders.

Here is something to read about the problem:

Hope that helps a little!

Thank You for responding Kathy. When I soaked him this morning after my post it rinsed away whatever was clinging to the tip & moistened it & it caused him to use the bathroom in the water bowl, after he did that I removed him & I made his damp papertowel in his container wet instead of 'damp'.

Since your posting I read your links & I have given him a soak in sugar water followed by a soak in plain water to rinse him off & put him back in his container. The little fellow has been through alot today. I will see how he is doing in the morning.

PILE-O-MIAMI's

Of course we can't forget these scrumptious beauties... Pile-O-Miami's ♥

I'm so sorry about the prolapsed hemipenis, I hope the other one is good!!!! I heard preparation H has been used with some success.

Good Luck, V

Well on the bright side at least you know his gender?! :sidestep:

I hope all is well for this little guy! Do you have a name picked out for him yet? The Miamis are SOOOOO beautiful, and the Cinder is .. well.. worth being a few minutes late to class to so I could get some more ogling time in. o_O

CONGRATULATIONS LORI!!! :santa:

A hemipene? Ah CRUD! When I talked to you yesterday I was hoping it was ambilicus but I couldn't tell from the picture. I guess the approach is pretty similar regardless. Of course a hemepene drying up and falling off sound so much more dramatic; especially to the males on the forum. Kathy is right though, he has an extra so no real worries. I have a Butter Motley guy who was born with only one and he has fathered many perfect clutches. Cute clutch mates!

ACK! Well hopefully he is not only born w/ one :awcrap: now you've given me a new worry ;)

Hopefully we can coordinate a time in a week or 2 if you are willing and able, to get together & pop these wee' ones & this fellow to see what he's got...

As for names... lol, I dont know yet... I was thinking either Edvard after Edvard Munch ( he who painted the scream painting) OR... Uncle Fester... just cause I like the name & his markings are creepy & kooky ;) Not sure which I like yet OR if I will end up with something different...
