Wall Of Snakes Progression Thread

They make them but you have to ask for them. I ordered my bins from Target and got them before I ordered the racks, to make sure I had bins. Either search for Animal Plastics Economy Rack here, to find the model number, or I will get it for you later. The bins are 66 qy Sterilite, from Target. Then you have to decide between heat cable or FlexWatt. I like heat cable. They have had a couple failures with it, and now install Flexwatt unless you ask. Which I did. I just don't have experience with FW and like and trust the cable. It fails off, if it fails. You can just buy a new one for $50 or something like that. Ali can discuss the whole thing with you.

"Wall of Snakes" sounds like an Indiana Jones movie title. lol Looks like enough to keep you semi-busy Nanci! :)

I just have 28, but Fred is leaving today to go back to Colorado, and Buzztail is just visiting, too, so really only 26. That's not too bad!

28 snakes! I guess I've expanded! Fred is a permanent resident, and Buzztail is still visiting :)

They certainly have enough space per viv and plenty of enrichment, kudo's for that! Are those plants real? This is not what I'd expect to see after being told these are naturalistic vivs but that is just bias I guess because over here we are so used to vivs, especially completely glass ones to show the splendour of its content when people put efforts into it to use real plants

To be honest I'd use Herpteks of that size if I'd have that space just to be able to see the insides through clear glass for optimal enjoyment of the snakes but without the assumed stress of a completely glass viv. I guess these tubs are way cheaper though :p

I've never claimed my bins were naturalistic. Unless you're speaking of the native red ratsnakes in Florida who inhabit the wine section at Target!

SERIOUSLY Barbara??
I see snakes with their needs being met. Not quite what goes on over at your place....
You taking swipes at one of the best keepers I have ever met is not winning you any fans. But then you already lost so much face lately maybe you won't notice....

Your set up is awesome Nanci! I'm very envious of what you have, and your snakies are well taken care!!! That's all that matters. And I'm sure they're super happy! Amazing job!

Tell me about it!! I have said for the last few years that if there is such a thing as reincarnation I want to come back as one of Nanci's snakes!!

I love Nanci's vivs. I plan on building my own racks that hold the these tubs for my corns. I have two right now. Big Sam and Banshee love them!

Nanci, I know you have more racks in other places. Could you post pics of how you tuck your racks into your enviornment. I read your blog on yard and tort fort (sadly behind the times). It is amazing when a person wants to really put effort into their hobby how they can make things fit and work in a smallish space. tia

I really thought you said your vivs are naturalistic, if not, than I did not say anything about that. I did not say anything bad about the set up, the snakes have space and stuff in their vivs to climb on and I am sure they are very happy!
I only mentioned that over here we are used to vivs, so I do not get an feeling of awe from the looks of this. If I would house my snakes in solo spaces this size, I'd use Herpteks, not tubs because I prefer those, both for looks as for providing 3 solid sides. Further being true to myself is more important to me than not loosing face in case you did not notice.
