We all love pics. We love being able to see different Morphs with ease. So I had a thought...

Would it be a good idea to have some stickys designated to pics of different morphs? Not even any comments, just pics.

I know that I search the forum for Okeetee pics all the time, and there are some stunning ones! It would be nice to have pic after pic of Okeetees.

I suppose it would be great for anyone interested in a certain color or morph to be able to quickly and easily go through a thread of nothing but pics of the snake they are interested in, seing both hatchlings and adults and all stages in between.

Good idea? Bad idea? Just throwing it out there...

To clear this up a bit, one sticky would be "Okeetees". Another thread would be "Miamis". Still another would be "Classics". "Pewter". "Sunglow". And so on...

Might take up the entire first page...? Would that be irritating for anyone?
 
Sorry, one more thought. Maybe have these in an entiely different area than simply Photographs. Maybe a sub forum of just morph pics?

I like the idea cause sometimes i wanna see a morph at all ages and it get's hard to find, maybe a sub forum for morphs rather than pictures though
 
I love the idea and totally support having a separate sub-forum purely for listing each morph. No comments, just pictures. It's easy to find eye-candy for all of us.
 
Besides the 2 morph sites already mentioned, the "other" corn snake site has a subforum strictly for morphs photos. The site owners have to monitor and edit it frequently because people just can't seem to keep from posting comments. Considering the membership of this forum, we would have to hire a full-time person to do nothing but edit out the comments if we implemented such a forum here. It's just not worth it, IMO.

Also, I have to move this thread as it actually belongs in the Discussions About This Site forum.

Didn't think about having to monitor and edit. Hopefully, people would respect and post with integrity.
 
I agree with Susan.

While the idea of a Morph Gallery is nice, and I can appreciate one without comments, there are lots of other places on the Internet to find that. However, if Rich wanted to try it, I'd be happy to delete all comments. If _Rich_ wants it, just to improve our site.
 
I certainly didn't want to make any more work for anyone. Maybe it was a bad idea LOL... Just thinking "out loud".

Still love this place!
 
Actually, something like this would be rather easy (but perhaps tedious) to implement, but not in the manner being suggested. I think what would be needed is something similar to the photo gallery I have over on FaunaClassifieds:

I'm sure anyone looking at that system can easily envision making it a cultivar (morph) based arrangement. The biggest problem I can see is getting everyone to agree on how exactly to structure such a gallery.
 
That does look nice! The search function works really well for threads, which got me thinking of threads with nothing but pics...

Actually, another way to implement something like this would be via a wiki-style function. But last time I looked, that functionality couldn't be added to a vbulletin style message board without looking like a kluge. I haven't looked at the latest version, so maybe that has been improved. Adding third party scripts always introduces the possibility of importing vulnerabilities to hackers, so these sorts of decisions need to be taken seriously to balance off the benefits versus the risks and headaches involved.
 
Understand. I can't begin to imagine the scope of running a site like this, so I don't want to suggest anything that would be a headache.

Heck, this one is rather easy. You should try running FaunaClassifieds.... THAT's the one that gives me the most "excedrin moments"....
