Yeah, I've been pretty much neutral about the two major candidates, thinking I was either going to vote independent (if I could find someone....) or skip the vote completely this time around, but "Mr. Three-In-One" has now gotten me curious about this Obama character. Jorge is like me, he enjoys logic.. But he plays with the dark side a little, LOL. Or maybe he's just posting what someone sent to him. But this is a perfect example of what's called "shifting the burden of proof".

Every point here is an insinuation that needs to be stated directly and then proven.. He doesn't make any direct accusations because he knows they would require evidence, instead he says something inconsequential that comes with an air of mystery. In the end he's said nothing directly, and yet he's added a little slime of suspicion in his wake. Here's an example of what I mean, how such an argument SHOULD be done to be taken seriously..

"Senator Obama won't release a copy of his thesis on 'Soviet Nuclear Disarmament' I believe he didn't finish his degree and here's my evidence on that.."
Or how about
"Senator Obama won't show the media a copy of his thesis on 'Soviet Nuclear Disarmament'.. I know why. It's because it was really on 'Black Power in the 21st Century', I know because I've obtained a copy. Here are some quotes."

Wait is Tom really suggesting that Jorge Banner (or his sources) do Obama's homework for him? Wrong question... Not Obama's homework. Jorge's sources are making claims (well not exactly are they? If you really look at their questions, there aren't any direct questions, just mysterious phrases, LOL) that aren't supported either. Then after creating NOTHING out of NOTHING, he wants Obama to do the homework and clean up the mess. That's cute, but it has all the validity of the Obama is a muslim email. No wait, that one at least made a real claim, LOL. Obama would be crazy to even acknowledge such questions..

Do we expect the same information on other candidates? Has anyone here seen McCain's birth certificate? I mean personally. Since they won't be satisfied with these...

I'd ask to see a copy of McCain's personally if I wanted to be petty, lol. But I'm satisfied with the fact that if there was a story about McCain's past that someone who wanted to spill it, would do it and SUPPORT their claims, not make innuendoes and ask him to do their homework.

No, I was agreeing with you. Sorry I wasn't clear. I am at work and trying to not get caught by my employees on the internet. I meant to say that it's easier to find incorrect information, but to find correct information some digging is needed (like what you did to refute Jorge's claims.)

I half suspected that's what you meant.. I had to answer it though, cause I realized that it would be easy to be read the other way too..

It's like I said to my dad the other day after I finished debunking the lies in the email he got from 'Yes on Prop 8' people. (I even called them up with him after, asking them if they agree with the claims that the email made. They were honest and said they do not and the email was made by someone not associated with them. I love it..)
Anyway what I was saying is that if I got an anonymous email (or word of mouth info) from somebody saying "Sarah Palin hates soldiers and has secretly disowned her son for joining the Army, She also has promised PETA to do everything in her power to make corn snake ownership illegal".. Before I got all excited about the windfall of hurtful information I had just recieved, I would probably be very suspicious. Suspicious because that information seems tailor made to RILE me up. Or someone just like me. I'd truly be even more suspicious because I wanted it to be true... I'd certainly never let the words part my lips unless I found it supported somewhere independent. Also if it is something that should be a HUGE story, I'd darn sure expect to find it reported..

But it seems like some people don't do that, they think instead, "Well that's outrageous!! I'm outraged! And that information supports everything I already thought about the candidate anyway!! So it rings true."

I do think for myself, and here are my thoughts:

Early on I was interested in what you had to say. I am an Obama supporter, and I like hearing why others support him. But I also respect the fact that other people have differing opinions and I RESPECT those as well. I don't have to agree with you to hear what you have to say. But when you attack people rather than listening to knowledge, beliefs and understandings they have come to in living their own lives, you show a LACK OF SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY. Which is what the Democratic party is all about.

I've seen your brothers drawings, and I said they were talented (perhaps reading comprehension is your problem). You lied when you said no other artist has show talent so early.

You can google those artists if you are interested in learning more about art and it's history. I don't care whether YOU know who they are or not. I was using AMAZING EXAMPLES of illustrative art, because unlike you, I know how to use FACTS to prove my point and create a logical and COHERENT argument.

I will also point out that the lack of structure in your posts in a visual forum shows a lack of intelligence and an INABILITY to coherently form thoughts and express them. Your choice of attacking rather that responding in an equally respectful manner to dissenting opinions displays a lack of maturity.

Jim Crowe is a disgusting argument to use, nor is it even accurate. It is in no way comparable to a debate. We aren't refusing you your basic human rights or even being disrespectful. It seems half of his and Palin's campaign is based on the Ayers/terrorist connection ( NOT connection). Like Obama had a secret alliance with him since he was 8 years old. Yes he admittedly worked on a committee with him, Did you read about who else was on the committee? Are you familiar with Obamas repeated public stance on Ayer's action of so so long ago?
McCain spent a great deal of the last debate almost crying about how so and so said something that hurt his lil feelings and he wanted Obama to rebuke it and apologize for it? While McCain still attacks him with "swiftboat" terrorist mumbo-jumbo. The only truth about the terrorist connection/not connection is that there are ( here I go again)politically ignorant people that are willing to believe anything about the opposing candidate. I do believe that most of the people who actually believe that "Obama is an Arab terrorist" are either inwardly or outwardly racist cowards.

As has been eloquently pointed out in a subsequent post, the burden of proof is on those who make the claim/accusation. Senator Obama, like Senator McCain, state their positions on issues on their respective websites. What instance do you have where he hasn't answered a question or issue?
