Unfortunately - I was unable to get out and vote yesterday. If I had, I honestly do not know who I would have ultimately voted for. I don't like McCain, but I also do not really trust Obama.
I must admit I was pretty impressed with the majority of Obama's speech last night...
Right up until the end anyways where it started to sound like a church service or some kind of mindless zombie rally - "Yes we can"....that kind of freaked me out a little bit...lol.
I hope that he really is able to make the changes he talks about. I think he has the potential - but only time will tell.

I agree.. I was with someone who was an Obama supporter, as I was not. Kinda awkward at times. But the ending of the speech was kinda creepy as well. I said the preacher thing as he was doing it, and my friend kinda yelled at me. Lol. I also think McCain's speech was a very good one as well.

The best part is how different politics really is between the two nations. Your Democrats, your left wing party is way, way, WAY more right wing than our Conservatives, our right wing party.
The depressing part is most Canadians don't recognize this either. :/

My fiance and I were thinking of moving to Canada if McCain got the presidency. We were both very pleased that Obama got in.
A friend of mine was the same way... she was serious... she was checking with TV stations to find out if there were any closed caption positions available.

I had a couple of friends moving to Amsterdan if that had happened. I guess their big move will not happen for at least 8 more years.

Well, it is over and like him or not he is our new pres. I had hoped those who voted against him could be as gracious about the defeat as McCain was in his concession speech, but I guess that is asking too much.
