So, this is interesting:

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/01/20/AR2006012001689.html

I'm pretty sure that was the part in the video in my OP where hundreds of riot police circled a park and arrested everyone inside. So it turned into a big debacle, the city lost a class action suit and apologies were issued. Good news.

I guess the question remains, though, is how did something like that happen in the first place? I also wonder why nothing has been done about Joe Arpaio in Arizona - although his latest thing may get him in trouble.

We can only hope. I can say that there are elements at work in the government to improve the actions of law enforcement. If Joe Arpaio is ever arrested and convicted, then I can say that there is real accountability and all we need to do is be vigilant.

The ACLU is an interesting organization. They will fight like caged rats for certain "liberties," while totally ignoring others.

Again, no one is saying that police mistakes, police brutality and police abuses do not occur... just not with the frequency that some have eluded to in this particular thread.

wow... a video of anecdotal evidence... numbers about cops not dying on the job as often as many people think...

So because my grandpa and his 6 brothers all went to WWII and all came back alive... guess not as many soldiers died as I thought... no big deal there.

I am doing my part... raising awareness...

Being a cop is safe, go do it, be the example you want to see in the world. Stop waiting for others to be it, go out and DO IT!

why am I posting in this... the two sides will never meet... aww heck I am tired and feeling fiesty

"Not all X are Y, but because X has been legally given license to exert power, we should respect all X." :roflmao:

Oh, and I have an anecdotal story which supports my contention. Therefore, my contention is a valid argument. :roflmao:

Yeesh!!! I'm away from the boards for almost a month, I come back to THIS weak sheeeyat? :grin01:
