"Quality Before Quantity"
Hi Everyone,
We just received our copy today. I was wondering if anyone else got theirs as well?

I did- I posted up in Misc Cornsnake Discussion. Going out to start it right now! I see Jay and PJ mentioned on the inside cover!!

Well! Now I have missed out and didn't order mine yet! Dang it! Well don't tell me how it ends. LOL

I didn't know it was out already. But since reading this topic...I just went and ordered mine. Thanks for the heads-up, Jay!

So since I've never bothered to order the Morph Guide in the past....exactly what new material can there be in this edition? I mean, nothing new has been discovered, so.....? :shrugs:

More morphs, full pictures of snakes instead of just close-ups of pattern/color, more genetics, two new genes (kastanie and terrazzo), a section on proving Mendelian genetics....

Just got mine today too...very interesting...especially the two genes that have been proven (Kastanie ( mandarin) and Terrazzo) via Mendelian genetics. I also found the breeding schemes chapter informative especially the "shortcut" method to producing quadruple (homo) morphs in just 3 generations.

Plus I got a personalized message (option when ordering) with Pritzel's signature...cool:dancer:

I should have waited. I just received the 2007 edition a couple months ago...
Oh well...dip back into the wallet:)

Well...you can save yourself $2.50 or so, and get the "shortened" version. It leaves out all of the duplicate chapters from the 2007 edition, and gets right to the new information...

Unless you keep the older edition at work like I do- I refer to the genetics stuff all the time.

Thank you! I will do that...I think it is a very valuable tool even for us "pet snake owners":)

Well, besides always wanting to update our library with anything new that comes along I was a little incentive to get this copy. I do like the fact that Chuck used full pictures of the morph in question instead of a small swatch of the snakes color and pattern. Also, I do like the genetics section on certain short-cuts. There seems to be a couple of new recessive traits that have come along, not sure how "new' they are actually. I do like the section on the "masque" gene. This has to do with recessive traits that influence head patterns. But honestly, this was the main reason...................

Nice Jay! I saw that on Wed when I got mine. I skipped 2007 so there was plenty of stuff that wasn't in the 2006 book. This is a great book to have.

I think the last one I bought was the '06, as there hasn't been that much new stuff to add other than cinder. But what about these two new genes? I haven't heard about them; anyone want to shed some more light on them?

(guessing I should probably just pick up a copy of it...)

Ok - this is a silly question - but I've never heard of this, and I was wondering where one might order one. It looks very worth having!
