Went to the NRBC show yesterday. Sadly, I only left with a t-shirt, and Adrian with a cool mask. It's just as well though. Due to that potential pesky SAG strike, there hasn't really been work in these parts for almost 2 months! $ better spent on bills than snakes... maybe. LOL! I have a sneaking feeling though that next year I'll be leaving there with a critter or two... and there was definitely one I was feeling some angst over not being able to get yesterday.

Anyways, here's a bunch of pics for you all of things that struck my fancy..hehehe...

Perfect baby hoggies. Wouldn't mind having one of these..hehe.

This was the one animal I'm wishing I brought home. Mexican Night Snake. Something I've lusted after in photos for years now, but oddly, had yet to see in person until yesterday. This one certainly didn't dissapoint. I'm maddly in love. THOSE EYES!!!

Random little girl holding that AMAZING Indigo, which was larger than she was! Woulda been a better photo if the dummy in the back hadn't seen I was taking a picture and reached in there to grab the snake and mess it up! *pouts* Still cuuute though.

My other love. An Argentinian B & W Tegu. This particular one (at LLL, I think) was one of the prettiest I've ever seen. *sigh* Someday...

For some reason, this Rhino Iguana did not like Adrian. Everytime Adrian came around the cage, he'd gape. Worked out for me!!

These are another likely candidate for purchases next year... and for once, it's not ME wanting them... it's *gasps* Adrian! He actually muttered "Wow, we might need one of these" to which I said "Whaaat? :)" and he quickly followed with "Nothing!". Hahahahaha.

Anyways, they're a type of Leaf Tail Gecko. Trying to find more info on them, what type they were, and if there are breeders out there (so any info would be swell!).

Those leaf geckos are amazing! I can see why you would want one.
And hey - I think I know those people in that photo! LOL!

IRC its a mossy leaf tail gecko. They are in the Uroplatus family of gecko. I forget the rest of its latin name. They need cool temps and High humidity. I believe again IRC they should be in the 70 degree range. The whole family of Uroplatus comes from the Island of Madagascar. Its off the coast of Africa. There is alot of info about them. They need a tall cage with alot branches for climbing. They will hang face down. Looking for crickets. They sometimes will launch themselves straight down on the cricket. I have heard stories of them getting stabbed in the mouth by branches and etc. I always wanted some of them. especially the Phats or santanic geckos. also similar to them are the speartails. Those have smaller tails than the santanic. I believe there is like 5 different species on these geckos. All are very nice.

OOOOO who's hoggies. I have one coming from John Q soon and I know he was there with many of the other babies. I am getting a little red from him....soooo excited!

Nice pics, Jennrose! Love those geckos! Spider gecko would make me freak though. I'd be worried that it wasn't eating enough. LOL.

Those iguanas are kewl too... but way to much care for me to handle. I think I probably would have walked off with a hoggie if anything. I've always been curious about those. LOL.

Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for sharing all of your pics. You saw some really awesome creatures! And kudos for not buying anything... that's tough to do!

I had nearly the same phenomenon happen, I was walking around all proud of my self restraint when my girlfriend who has never wanted a snake before up and tried to buy an indigo! I was like "Go for it!" but she only had a credit card, lol.
I was proud of her though, if she's going to pick one, that's a great one!

Indeed. Indigos are one of my favorite animals period, reptile or other. If it weren't for their size and more so their.. digestion habits, that'd be on the top of my list! SO SO Beautiful!
