B&W Photography

[Insert Witty Commentary]
I've been spending some time really working on my B&W photography lately. It's always been a favorite genre of mine, and I think I'm actually starting to get decent at it. What do you guys think?

Might as well JUMP!!

I don't know...I'm enjoying it. What do you guys think?

Schweeeet! Very noice photos man. I really like the Bishop Creek one. Its got an eerie feeling to it. The jump one is cool too. What kind of camera are you using?

They look scary to me. Like Tales of the Darkside scary not horror scary. I would guess it is because of the dark sky. I guess that is why I like them. I think the jump one is the best and I have no idea why either.

Like martin-bernstein said what type of camera and lens please.

Love the Fatman

You inspired me to try some B&W photos in andalusia on my holiday, I haven't got it right yet but I liked this shot of storm clouds

Thanks, everyone, for the input!

For those wondering, I use an Olympus E-520 and a Zuiko 14-42mm lens for all of these shots. A rather inexpensive kit...nothing fancy, just a 10mp DSLR camera and kit lens. The E-520 is the only camera body I have, but I have a couple of different lenses...

Chris once again I am in aww of your photos!!!! I have missed seeing them especially your wildlife photos.

They have an Ansel Adam's quality to them. I mean that as a compliment! They look great!

I TAKE that as a compliment! Ansel Adams was the founder of the Group f/64 philosophy, which I tend to adhere to in landscapes, and also developed The Zone System, which I rely upon heavily for good exposure technique. He was one of the most innovative and impressive photographers to ever work with the craft, and if his influence is even remotely visible in my work...I'm more successful than I ever hoped to be...

Oh I know! His portraits are...

Well I don't have words to adequately describe them.

I just didn't want you to think I was saying you were ripping him off or trying to be like him or something else like that was all.

No sir, not at all. I am very fond of Ansel Adams, Edward Weston, Imogen Cunningham, Henri Cartier-Bresson, and many of the Great Masters that came before me. If my stuff is even remotely capable of being classified as reminiscent of their outstanding work, it is a compliment.
