Bloodred het Butter Stripe Clutch Pipping!!

Em Wright

The Ice Queen
Finally!! Day 63 and they're PIPPING! I'm so excited! One out, with 6 more working on it!

And I think this one is a Caramel Bloodred. Not sure yet.

The pairing was a Bloodred het Butter Stripe X the Same on loan from Colorado Corns.

I don't know what else it could be, if that is all the hets! Bloodred babies are definitely red.

Maybe the parents were both het Anery without being known. Doesn't he look like a granite?

Cute!

Keep the pics and the babies coming, hope for a stripe in the bunch but most of all hope they eat first.
Great job
John

John would have to answer about the het Anery stuff, he's the one who owns the parents and knows where they came from, etc. I'm going to assume they are not het Anery and go with the genetics I was told originally until John says otherwise or some very obvious proof shows up. For now, I think Baby 001 is a very dark Caramel Bloodred. We'll see what happens when (s)he sheds. :D

Oh and another one is coming out!!! Another Caramel Blood?

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a Fire Stripe! :grin01:

Congrats!
That baby is, certainly, diffused (Blood). However, don't know if it is my monitor, or what, but I'll be darned if it does not look like a diffused Anery (Granite). I know that Caramel hatchlings can be quite dark, and some can almost look Anery, but ...:shrugs: )

I am seeing the same thing... looks anery... is it more grey in person? My caramels look dark brown with yellowish bands...

It looks just like the two Caramel Bloodreds I got last year. Don't worry...they lighten up soon enough...

Jarrett

It may look like a Granite, but I'm going with Caramel Bloodred because the known genetics say Granite isn't possible. They're both in blue so I'm sure they'll look more Caramelish once they shed. :D

I did get more pictures of baby 002 - I'll upload them in a bit.

The caramel bloods will lighten up after the first shed, the parents came from Rich Hume and he keeps real good records on the hets. That bloodred stripe is killer, I'll trade you a tessera het cayenne fire for that snake, what do you think?
John

Well half the clutches are yours, I figure once everything is out we can divide them up. I'd like a 1.1 or 1.2 as keepers, but I plan on selling/trading the rest of my half. If you want that one, I'll keep it aside for you. :D (S)he has a fantastic stripe - I hope the others come out with such nice striping!

Congrats on the gorgeous babies!

I wish I had a bloodred stripe to trade you :D

I am sure they will lighten up, and start to look more like Caramel Bloods, once shed. Especially considering Anery is not in the mix at all.
Sure are some beautiful babies!

Thanks everyone!

I checked the babies this morning, the Caramel Bloods look more brown today, though they haven't shed yet. There were two more out of the eggs this morning, too. Including another Caramel Bloodred and a Fire Stripe that I'm marking as my keeper!

The two of them together (they've got dry skin)

CIR-11-005 Fire Stripe! (I ran her through a damp paper towel between the first and second photos)

I'm not sure why, but they all have the flaky shed going on. Later today I'm gonna let them run around in a damp paper towel - I'm worried they'll have problems shedding. :shrugs:

Now, I can see that this last Caramel Blood is, indeed, a Caramel Blood.:)
Of course, I know the others are too.;)
Love the Striped babies.
