calling all bookworms....

I'm about to start "Girl with a Dragon Tatoo" series. Just finished Hunger Games trilogy.

Just as a general recommendation, if you like science fiction, check out "The Stars my Destination" by Alfred Bester. One of my all time favorites.

I agree

If you like fantasy I suggest Percy Jackson and the Olympians. I just finished the first two books in a week and a half. Right now I am trying to get into Dragon Ships.

I know there ment for like 12 yearold kids but i finished them umm i think week b4 last i read the last 4 in a week i could not put them down.

Im reading Blood Ninja by Nick Lake. Started out a lil slow and hits a slow point now and then but overall a great book(all tho im only half way threw it). if you like Sifi or historcial fiction then Stephen R Lawhead is a must. I have read any of his sifi but the what i have read is in my opinion the best books of all time. My fav of his is The song of albion.

Best Practice - The Pros on Adobe Illustrator. I know, not a fiction book but during school I dont have much time for anything but school related reading.

I'm a speed reader, so since I read very fast, I usually read somewhere around 4 to 7 books a week. Some of my favorites are David Weber, (SF) his Safehold series in particular but I like most of his books.
Gillian Bradshaw, (History) The Sand-Reckoner, Island of Ghosts & Cleopatra's Heir to name a few.
Jumper By Steven Gould, (SF/Fantasy) for some reason I couldn't get into the other books in that series.
Don Coldsmith, (History) especially The Spanish Bit Saga. Those are just a few.

i can't remember who mentioned Kurt Vonnegut, but Slaughterhouse-Five is SO GOOD!

Yeah, I'm pretty sure Tattoo is the first in the series. I think there are at least two other books out, maybe three in that series.

There are three books total. The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, The Girl Who Played with Fire and The Girl Who Kicked a Hornet's Nest I enjoyed them all. My only problem was keeping track of the "foreign" names. LOL

I love the House of Night Series by P.C. Cast & Kristen Cast. It is another young adult series. Patricia Briggs Mercy series & Alpha & Omega series is another all time favorite series of mine.

Just about to start "Children of the Serpent Gate" by Sarah Ash. The last book in a trilogy. I've really liked it so far.... I'm a big fantasy buff, and I've probably read about... 150-200 maybe more (I don't keep count, lol) in the past 2 or so years? I used to pound down a book every 2 days :S Not a lot of time for reading these days, though, and I'm running out of books in my local library, lol!
I'll always suggest the Wheel of the Time series by Robert Jordan... unless you're worried about reading almost 13 or so books, lol. That, and the author died before finishing the last one, so someone else has taken over (One more book I think?)

my mom read Girl with a Dragon Tatoo and I loved Hunger Games trilogy I can't belive Prim died because of Gales bomb method or Finnike or how ever you spell his name come to think of it I can't belive how gory Mockingjay was, really

I am not reading these right now but they are my all time favorite book series (aside from The Lord of the Rings...that one is like a given) and I suggest them to anyone who loves fantasy:

The Sword of Truth series by Terry Goodkind

A Song of Ice and Fire series by George R.R. Martin

I'm currently working my way through the Harry Potter series again to refresh my memory before the final movie(s) comes out. Prior to that, I was on a Jim Butcher spree and read his Dresden files and Alera Codex.

(as a note, I love The Sword of Truth series, and may have to pick up Wheel of Time again now that there's an actual end to it. From the reviews I've read, the final book with the different author is quite good. I stopped about book 9)

I am currently waiting for "Girl With the Dragon Tattoo" to come into the library hold I put on it. I cant wait! The movie was pretty good and of course books are always better.

I just read Kindred by Octavia Butler. It was assigned homework in one of the classes I'm taking, but this is NOT a dull book! I'd recomend it to anyone, it's quite the page turner.

It's a crazy somewhat science fictiony (yet somehow very "believable" / realistic) spin on first hand slave narratives.

How many of you have started the Eragon series by Christopher Paolini
and would like to kick him in the go nads for taking forever in writing the last book in the series.

Love the Fatnab
