Caramel SomethingOrOther?

Hey guys, picked up this lass from a local reptile shop because she just looked too different to pass up on. I'm pretty sure she's got diffused in her, definitely not expressed though (yellow belly checkers)? 90% sure there's some caramel at play here as well. Lemme know what you guys think though. I've included dorsal, side, belly, eye pics, and a tongue shot for fun!

My vote is just a caramel. I see no signs of diffusion. There is not split belly, diffusion of sides, or a real faint head pattern. So I say it is just homo Caramel but a beautiful one at that. But really only breading trials can really tell.

She looks like a pretty caramel. I don't see any indications of diffusion "het markers," but as Josh said, only breeding trials would tell you for certain. The yellow belly checkers are common, and not indicative of any particular morph. Nice pickup. Cool head shot, too!

Not sure, but she looks nice!

And actually, tongue shots aren't just real cool. It seems tongue color is related to the morph. :p

Lovely caramel, but I also see no indication of the diffuse gene, but only breeding trials will tell for sure.

Caramel. Doesn't have any het blood markers, but my caramel female who is 100% het blood doesn't either. But I wouldn't count on it, especially if she wasn't sold that way. Caramel based bloods are still somewhat uncommon.

Amber maybe, I don't have anything caramel to compare it to but the belly checks are definitely "washed out"...looks like there could be something "hypo-ish" going on :*)

Pretty, real nice find

Thanks for everyone's input! I only guessed at caramel het blood because her sides seem very diffused compared to most of my corn snakes. Heck, they're more diffused than my diffused babies! :p We shall see though, she's going with my pewter male this year to test for blood in her- worst case scenario, I end up with all normals het caramel pewter. PLUS the pewter is het hypo, so that tests her out for hypo as well :D She's with her boy now, fingers crossed for a hookup!

Many corn snakes's sides kind of lose their pattern as a snake gets older and becomes washed with more melanin.

Just because a snake's side pattern smooths out and becomes less contrasty as it ages, it does not necessarily mean that it is Diffused. I don't see any Diffusion on your snake's sides. I see a pattern that has been filled in with melanin.

Beautiful Caramel though! I think she is gorgeous.

Yeah, it's probably just wishful thinking on my part, especially where I am. Caramels aren't even too common around here- finding one with caramel and blood would be like getting the jackpot :p Either way, I can't wait for her babies!

Caramel-based morphs are among my favorites. I really don't see diffusion or hypo at work in your new girl; many (including most of my) caramels have yellow belly checkers. But hey, even if she isn't carrying those hets, she's a lovely girl and you should get some awesome F2s from your breeding. My fingers are crossed for a nice healthy clutch for ya!
