Hello everyone,

Thanks for looking! So I recently rescued 2.4 carpets from a sticky situation. Long story short a fellow keeper/breeder had to part with her collection and scram quickly. So I now have 6 new mouths to feed. Anyone wanna tell me what morphs/localities these children are? I know some are jungle, but thats about it! Thanks in advance!

I think jungle jags see a higher yellow, but that's an awesome rescue just the same. Jealous.

1-4 look like jungle carpet pythons. nice looking :) 5-6 could not get to showup. Do you know what they have been eating? Some will eat rats some won't. I have a 7-8 foot 10 year old male that is doing great. When he was small like those he was on mice. I gave him a rat once...at first he spit it out an had the funniest look on his face like "what was that?!" then he eventually took it. He ZOOMED in size once he started eating rats. (F/T). Some can be nippy when young. Mine never was. He's "puppy dog" tame as they say. :)

Thanks for the responses. Everyone have the typical baby behavior. It was quite a rescue. I'm quite fortunate to have them! So 1 and 4 look like Jungles.. Oh 5 and 6 you need to copy and paste ( sorry for the extra work ) They've been eating f/t mice per the past owner. I was thinking I had atleast 1 jag. Which I may hang onto and grow up a tad, I'm interested to see how he colors up since he is such a bright looking baby.

Come buy something so I can see them in person ;) J/k Amanda, but would like better pics (sorry lol). The first four pics look "too yellow", the last two "not enough yellow", could be me/ my machine tho.

Pretty sweet, and nice rescue Amanda :)

The first ones are definitely jungles. The color is so off on the pictures though that it's hard to tell what the last ones are.

They look like Jungles to me, but the first one looks possibly coastal.
The problem with unknown history, you never know for sure. There are many integrades out there, where people have crossed all kinds of Carpets.
#5 & 6 the color is off in the pic, hard to say, looks more coastal to me, 6 may be Jungle.
Is there any way to get the background info on them?

Chris, I've been in the buying mode as of late. If you could tell me in person it'd be worth the ride over for you to check them out for me! lol! Sorry about the picture quality. I can get different more far away, less lit? More lighting?

Yes they're is. I'm waiting for the previous owners life to settle down a bit before I butt in and start asking questions. I just figured I'd throw the line out and see if anyone could give me ideas. I thought I had everyone figured out, then I started to second guess myself. =)

I forgot to add, that none of them look like Jags, but better pics (natural lighting) will be able to tell easier.

Are these your first Carpet Pythons? www.MoreliaPythons.com is a fabulous forum (cs.com for carpet python enthusiasts LOL)
Also, a really good book to learn about Morelia is "The Complete Carpet Python" book, written by Nick Mutton & Justin Julander.

Sounds like they're younger, & I would recommend keping them on mice until they're past XL Adult mouse size, before you switch them, because it gives them more nutrition in the more developed mice, vs baby rats.

I've had these guys before. But I've been looking for a good forum for them. And I do realize my title was wrong. I did indeed mean sub species instead of morph. Thanks for the correction.

Not sure what they are, but they're super pretty! I've got 3 carpets myself, pretty sure 1 IJ, 1 Jungle and the last is Jag/jungle. He's SUPER bright!

Carpet 3 is the best as far as color goes, the other two are hard to judge color, but I'm guessing that 1 looks to be Coastal (or have some Coastal blood) 2 looks Jungle, 3 looks Jungle

Any other photographing tips to help better judge color? Or does in person seen to be my only option? Thanks
