Creepiest Bug Ever!

I saw the Musk Mare outside last night. Stupidly, I petted her on the back and said "Hi Musk Mare." She sprayed my fingers! It was very difficult to wash off. I guess she isn't my friend...

Yikes! :eek: I wouldn't dare touch such a creepy bug. That was brave of you!

Did the musk burn you, or did it just smell really nasty like snake musk?
 
Hey i saw that bug on dirty jobs i think. thats the male on her back. and if its the right bug. watch out they spray some nasty smell if you scare them. there some stick bug

It just felt cool and wet- I couldn't see it. It was a very light spray. It didn't smell either, but after I scrubbed and scrubbed my hands, I could taste it later...

the male is so....well....small !!!! hmmm.....must be larger in other 'areas':shrugs:

as for the centipede, although it's a great picture, I have to say that they really creep me out. They're just so darn fast, and creepy looking! :eek:
 
:eek1: I thought that was her tail too at first! Awesome find. I just hope that little male's around to see his future offspring. He looks about the right size for a snack! :sidestep:

I saw 2 pairs of these in the Everglades last year, both a mating pair in the process. Now I know what they were (we just generally referred to them as "stick insects")
 
D'oh! When you said grill I thought car grill, and was amazed that it lived. I'm not a bug fan, but it's interesting, nevertheless.
