Creepiest Bug Ever!

I saw the Musk Mare outside last night. Stupidly, I petted her on the back and said "Hi Musk Mare." She sprayed my fingers! It was very difficult to wash off. I guess she isn't my friend...

Yikes! I wouldn't dare touch such a creepy bug. That was brave of you!

Did the musk burn you, or did it just smell really nasty like snake musk?

It just felt cool and wet- I couldn't see it. It was a very light spray. It didn't smell either, but after I scrubbed and scrubbed my hands, I could taste it later...

the male is so....well....small !!!! hmmm.....must be larger in other 'areas':shrugs:
the picture is fantastic Nanci !
as for the centipede, although it's a great picture, I have to say that they really creep me out. They're just so darn fast, and creepy looking!

:eek1: I thought that was her tail too at first! Awesome find. I just hope that little male's around to see his future offspring. He looks about the right size for a snack! :sidestep:

Bump! I was trying to find this photo of the Musk Mare to post on Repticon's page.

Cornsnakes.com is the _best_ for preserving memories!!

I saw 2 pairs of these in the Everglades last year, both a mating pair in the process. Now I know what they were (we just generally referred to them as "stick insects")

D'oh! When you said grill I thought car grill, and was amazed that it lived. I'm not a bug fan, but it's interesting, nevertheless.
