If you're liking the hognose but still want something pretty to look at you, you could always look into the tri-colored hognose, might be a bit on the pricey side though, but still gorgeous snakes

Congrats.My hoggie is hiding out right now because he's getting ready to shed.But he still takes his mouse even in blue.I feed him extra small adult mice(F/T).When I first got him he didnt eat for almost a month.I think he had never been given F/T mice before and he had to be really hungry.He never misses a meal now.

Yeah they very good looking but if and when I get that color snake i'd most likely get a milk.

Thats awesome , I don't think I would handle a spastic feeder well.(I know depends on the snake)

Ive heard the tricolor hoggies have some feeding issues and tend only want frogs.Not completely sure but I thought I read something about it once.
Make sure your hoggie is feeding well on pinks, you dont want a problem feeder even with the westerns it can happen.

you should look into the Candoia genus. Mine is small, and ALWAYS up in her climbing structure. They look awesome, too.

They're boas, not colubrids, but still. Very cool.
Not sure about pricing at all, mine was $80 and Canadian prices tend to be jacked up in the reptile industry.

Get a gopher snake. It may eventually break 5 foot by a small margin, but in the end excellent pet snakes, great natural looking colors, great feeding response, and always active.

Lol, I was just about to ask if this was sarcastic when i saw that it was xD
my BCI (he's actually not a cross.. I gotta change my signature) is a year and almost 4 feet I'm so excited for him to grow more.
