E.C. day 129....

Don't really know if we're 129 days into the project but it sounded cool.

While the comtractor was re-digging the West creek this fellow popped up. I had to rescue him from the lads making tacos out of him.

E.C. for 9-23...

Got the call while I was down in a hole the super had a "water moccasin" waiting for me. So I drive across the job site and just as I thought..... most of the good ole boys in these parts refer to all water snakes as moccasins including the Cottonmouth. But they had a Green Water snake who had just given birth. I found 9 wee ones. She was a very odd color brown. I suspect she is in shed mode.

A relly good, good day.....

No pictures cause they didn't come out but halfway through the day an old B-17 flanked by two Mustangs flew over at low altitude. In my last drive through I found a juvie coachwhip in the middle of the road. Beautiful snake. Very light butterscotch with that braided pattern. Those of you who have ever tried to catch a coachwhip know why there aren't any pics of him.
But first thing off the bat this morning, a top notch prize. Usually find these about 18," this baby was 29." And a really good looking speciman. These pics don't really do him justice. But enjoy....

NICE!!! I'm waiting to find one of those here. That one, indeed, is a great looking specimen... and so large too!

How did it react to you? From the pics, it looks rather calm... just what I'd expect to see from those around here.

Congrats!!!

BTW, I wonder if that B-17 (escorted by my favorite planes EVER) was the one that is usually parked over here at Falcon Field? It hasn't been around almost all summer... and am worried that it has been "relocated"... :(

I have never run across.....

a coral that wasn't mellow.

There is a place right up the road called Fantasy of Flight. They have a really nice collection of vintage aircraft.

Two Corals in three days....

Found this little girl in the same area. She seemed to be underweight although not lethargic in any way. Maybe she was late in laying some eggs. The second pic is of the snake caught Monday with my cell. I sent to Lisa to show her. The response, "No way in he#* are you bringing that home.

Ahhhhhhh... skinny or not, she's still lovely! To me, corals are one of those "temptation snakes" (not to mention "lifer"). They're usually so calm and non-defensive that it seems that you almost forget that they're pretty venomous. I'm waiting for the day that I run across one so that I can handle it (with a hook of course) and get pics. That'll be a nice highlight!

One day...

Good week....

Found this guy today. A large Racer about 4.5ft long. He has been beat to hell. He was in the middle of a shed and was in blue. He had multiple scars. He lives in the Bald Eagles neighborhood. I took him to the contractors trailer where he received a 15 minute bath and removal of the current dead skin. Then I released him closer to the creek.

WHOA nice! And very nice of you to give him a bath. I see the "bag"? Did he try to leave you "love nips" for your troubles? LOL.

Sure....

Can I go to work with you tomorrow? LOL

You can carry the nuke gauge, sledgehammer, pin, and plate. :nyah:

Really tomorrow will be easy. Once a month the contractor has a safety lunch provided there were no accidents. We go to Sonny's at 11:30 till 1:00. No body works after that and we sit around talk about how full we are.

No....

the coral snake left a present in my pillowcase and it was at home in the wash. All I had to transport him was the bag, left open of course as I drove to the trailer.

Yes....

Nice racer! Any more panther pug marks yet?

we saw some tracks last week as big as my hand. Had to be the male. I was to busy to document em though. We are in the neighborhood of the coyotes and have seen their tracks every morning both adult and pup.

Coyotes and pups! I'd love to see those tracks if you do get the chance to get a picture of them.
