Flame seems small

Flame's weight seems to be on the low side for his age. He is 7 months old and is 60 grams. He's not skinny though, you can't see his backbone and he is actually a pretty toned snake. He just seems a bit small. I would guess his length is about 20 inches.

Do these seems like the propper dimensions?

Our 2 cornsnakes at 9 months old were
62 grams and 72 grams at 18 inches and 20 inches repectively.
So unless Flame is having feeding issues and he is eating appropraitely sized food he seems good...but perhaps someone else could chime in.

Any pictures???

I'll have pictures up in his thread. I have been on vacation for the past month so I haven't been able to take any pictures of him. I hope to take some either today or tomorrow.

I think it's just my paranoia, and the fact that I hadn't seen him for a month. His next weigh in will be this thursday, and I'll post his weight.

You can get electronic scales at Walmart or any other superstore. First check under the foods/kitchen section and then try the automotive section and lastly the electronics. Or just ask someone.

Tiny is my 9month old, 11gram snow corn who went on a hunger strike for 2 months. My largest corn, also 9 months, is 42 grams and about 22 inches long. She's really starting to put on weight now though, and I expect her to be nearing 60 by mid september.

Gotcha beat... Gunn was born the end of November and is still weighing in at 10grams. He's only missed two meals... both times he was blue and one regurge when I tried to feed him at 4 days instead of 5. An attempt at "powerfeeding," but he was having no part of it.

As long as he keeps taking the meals, I'm not going to say much

You have me beat indeed! ..... >_> Do you ever find yourself scowling at your little one and thinking "grow darn you!"?

LOL For awhile... now I just sigh and say pretty please... he just looks all innocence like and says "you got a mouse?" The male way of avoiding the conversation :)

*Shudders* Uh...Walmart. LOL! I work there.

But I am glad to know I could potentially find an electric scale there!

BTW how is Flame doing? I think you were just as little paranoid from not seeing him. I know I am when I do not see mine for a while.

Just make sure it is a scale that will weigh in grams, goes up to about 1000 grams and is accurate to about 1-2 grams. I ordered mine from Target on-line several years ago for a good price. It even came with a bowl.

I used to work at Walmart... I feel your pain! :crying:
