So CaptBogart is generously giving me his uromastyx. I am so excited I can't believe it!!! I have wanted one for so long, but the lizard itself is expensive, and then they need a large viv to accomodate the temperature zones- otherwise I could cheap out and put him in a 40 breeder. So it's been a concurrent fantasy that if I ever got a uro, I would put it in a Showcase Cage. But a 4x2 cage isn't so easy to squeeze in, in my house, where every inch of wall space and every flat surface is covered with snakes. So...
I moved a bookcase out of my bedroom into the bathroom. I moved the double ten gallon stack of Calli/Ruby into the bedroom. I moved the cedar chest in Dillbird's room to the foot of the bed. I moved the china cabinet into Dillbird's room. I moved Rack #3 to the kitchen where the china cabinet had been. I moved a teak chest out to the living room where rack #3 and Calli/Ruby had been, to set the uro's viv on. I turned Bella's crate around, moving the pads and cover and all that, to use the door on the other side that opened the right way, and moved that where the teak chest had been. Oh, to move the teak chest, I had to move Lila's viv/cupboard in the kitchen, and the dresser that Zee and Noee sit on, in the bedroom. Ok. I hated the Calli/Ruby stack next to my bed. I thought of moving the room AC over to the window next to Rack #1, but worried about that rack and El Wray getting cold. So I moved Ruby/Calli BACK to the living room, this time in front of a window, that I can't open anyway because the portable AC is vented out it, and moved Dillbird's rocking chair over by the DVD rack by Milly's cage. It looks good- Calli/Ruby cover up the ugly AC vent hose, but I worry about them getting cold there. Now I just have to move their thermostat and thermometer so I can see it. I think everything is as good as it can get without buying a bigger house...
Did I mention this took two and a half hours???
