Gettin' ready to rock

Ok, I know you're all dying to hear...

... I'm just now coming down from the event! :grin01:

Although this show is technically being billed as the Take Cover tour, this particular show was billed as Hits and Rarities.

The show opened with Don Dokken doing an acoustic set.
Don played acoustic guitar along with Kelly Keeling (TSO) on 12 string acoustic. They were phenomenal. Don's set list:

Into the Fire
Just Got Lucky
Breaking the Chains
Alone Again
Dream Warriors
It's not Love
In my Dreams

Thanks to quick and efficient roadies, Queensryche was ready to go in less than 30 minutes.
The opening number was a bit of a surprise, Burning Man (Q2K)
Then they rifled through NM 156 and Screaming In Digital!
Next was a cover of Welcome To The Machine with Geoff Tate on sax!
That was followed by a couple from Mindcrime II...
I'm American, and The Hands.
Next was Bridge (Promised Land)
Totally blowing me away, they delve into the Rage For Order era and do,
The Killing Words and Gonna Get Close To You!
The rest of the set may not be in exact order...

Another Rainy Night
Breaking The Silence
Anybody Listening
Last Time In Paris
Best I can
Eyes Of A Stranger

The encore started with a cover Of Sabbath's Neon Knights, featuring a finalist in some type of singing contest on lead vocals with Geoff. The guy was very good, sounded just like Dio!
The rest of the encore...

Lady Wore Black
Empire
Someone Else
Jet City Woman

So there it is, my first ever concert review. :dancer:

I'm glad you enjoyed yourself Mike! I'd comment on the setlist if I could, but unfortunately I haven't heard of a single one of those acts (apart from Black Sabbath)... (please don't kill me) :grin01:

nice i dont know much queensryche but i love concerts glad to see you enjoyed yourself im gone to see megadeth in april should be great

Yeah she did, as did my future grandson!
She said he was kicking quite a bit. :grin01:
That's awesome!
My first "real" concert (not counting Robert Palmer at a state fair) was Metallica and I was about 6months pregnant. Alex started kicking the music started and didn't stop until halfway home. My friends swore he was headbanging! We taught him how to really headbang when he was about three years old and to do the "devil horns" finger sign while doing it!!!
