Just seen a couple, nice example that is now residing in the UK!! That one you sold at the Hamm show. Id love to attend a decent show somewhere. Would have to be either in UK or parts of europe like, france, germany, belgium, holland etc. Any idea when the next ones are on??

Talk to dimond dill or corn morphs maybe you can make plans with them for next year. If so I can send stuff to the Hamm show in Germany with Rob Roy from glads herp. Hopfuly Nige @ cornmorphs will put a nice order with me again. You can talk to him about it .

Thanks for that. Ive spoken to Nigel a few times actually, seems a nice bloke and very helpful! Hope to purchase something off him soon, prob be next year now though!! Thanks for that Vinman!

Anyone else think it a little scary how close that blizzard corn came to being bred to an Emory ratsnake in a few years with the babies being considered PURE (i.e., not hybrids) because of a rushed/blotched identification? This should be a lesson for people not to jump to the conclusion they WANT........

Totaly false, :grin01: the blizzard is 2 genes and if I was to breed it to emoryi I would have got rootbeers. That alone would have told me it was a corn, also if the young would have been breed back to eachother 4 diffrent color morphs would have came out of the young :)

normal
charcoal
amel
blizzards

genetics...forte.

LOL - I couldn't pass up the chance. Seriously, I didn't mean any insult. I don't expect ANY of us regular users of this, and similar, message boards to have any problems at all with these "grade school" genetics.

You know I like you and have respect for you, and I wasn't pointing a finger at anyone in particular....BUT people that couldn't ID that as an obvious cornsnake MIGHT have trouble IDing a "rootbeer" (of which very few are actually rootbeer colored!) as a hybrid and not just a "light" emory.

It wouldn't be the first time something along these lines happened. Look at the history of the albino "speckled kingsnake." The original capture was an intergrade and not a pure speckled kingsnake. That's one of many examples that most of us that have been around are aware of. I'm sure you could name a bunch I'm not familiar with, too.

Me and deen talked about a hour about the snake . I think that If I bred it to a pure emoyi I would have seen the diffrance . It is not just color but pattren and body type. The albino in the pic had very bold head pattren you dont see that in blizzards , thats why I thought it might be emoryi. Many mutations mask the true pattren of a snake as in blood red, mot, stripe, Z morph, sunkissed. Maybe in the hands of a novice breeder, a breeder of few years, or someone that is not deeply into corns. I can see that. Just a few post and I'm sure the board and we would strighten them out on what the babies are.
