How Was Your Day?

Sorry to hear about your friend. Hope he's alright.

Well, my day again.

I love this thread! Don't know why, it's just nice.

Had a half day today, that was nice. And no games this Wednesday, so I have all afternoon to do nothing. Crew season's starting up. It's my first year, so that'll be interesting.

What else... Oh, how could i forget, SPRING VACATION IN 3 DAYS!!!! Can't wait for it, three weeks of no school, AND I'm going skiing in Aspen. Woo-hoo! Everythings good here.

Except Aurora refused her meal last night. It looked like she started on the meal and let go after a few bites, as there was a little blood on the end of the mouse. The meal was actually a little small for her. Well, too bad, but I'm not too worried, I'll try again this sunday.

Thanks for Returning to this thread everyday guys : ) its nice to read about how nice your days have been : ) my friend is still in intensive care, however he is stabilised and can say some words without causing to much stress...

Nanci, hes a little boy, well, hes still inside, but hes defiantly a boy according to the scan pictures :grin01:

my last few days have been hell, thanks for asking
monday found me with a severe case of food poisoning
i'm still recouperating several days later
at least my kidneys don't hurt so bad as they did
but my back is still sore from all the puking

I'm sorry to hear about your friend George. I'm glad he's stable.

Here's hoping all goes well with your mom's labor and delivery. And please let us know about your new baby brother when you can!

Its 9:45am, and I've been home for an hour. Yay for overnight shifts! Work sucked as usual. Drove around checking doors and buildings all over northern Colorado. Had one vehicle break-in at a local apartment complex, wrote a couple fire lane parking violations at another condo complex (which happens to be where I live), had to deal with finding coverage for a shift that an officer never showed up to work (Im in security if you cant tell by now) which is always a pain. Then I had to deal with the shift changeover with my supervisor, which is never a fun experience and the worst part of my shift. Today she was nitpicking at the fact that I need to write a statement about some keys that went missing for an old abandoned HP building when I was in Chicago visiting family?! Seems kinda redundant to me. Why should I write a statement saying I dont know what happened to the keys because I was out of town. Strange.

Today should be a good day. I need to adjust my sleeping schedule because Im picking up some OT tomorrow and working from 5pm-12am then two 12hr day shifts this weekend. Sucks that they screw with my clock like that. But that means I get to get stuff done today. Grocery shopping is definately on the list. Also gotta take care of the breeding rats today at the raptor center, which I really like doing.

Hopefully I can get to bed at a decent hour tonight, I will definately need the rest! I will be running on 33hrs of no sleep by midnight tonight.

Thanks guys, she never had the baby, the hospital people are too tight, they would rather let her wait another 1-8 days before worrying... =/ instead of a baby brother i got something just as exiting, a new wireless keyboard and mouse!! :grin01:

Yesterday I had an.....odd day.

First off, It was sunny out and fairly mild temperature wise....

My significant other and I were walking up the hill to the bus stop when stuff started faling on us- at first I thought it was dust or ash or something, but it turned out to be..... snow????

Keep in mind that there wasn't a cloud in the sky and was warm anough to wear just long sleeved t-shirts.

So that was weird.

Went to classes, came home and discovered that I had left my keys on my bed and I was locked out of my apartment. FUN. Also, I keep my keys on my phone. So I was key-less and phoneless, and my roommates were no where to be seen.

So I decided to go back to Campus and sit in the library for a couple hours until I could be sure that my roommates would be home.

I hate the feeling of being locked out....

I have a lock box screwed onto my steps where you can't really see it with a key in it. I got tired of burying keys like a squirrel and then not being able to find them.

Bought mice- saw cool snakes at the snake store- I have the feeling Maizey is going to refuse her mice, but I don't know yet. Choco isn't awake to eat yet, and I like to let him come out by himself rather than digging him out- that always seems to really frighten him. No one else minds.

Switched a couple more lightbulbs to fluorescent, and found out fluorescent doesn't do dimmers...

I'm glad the bad line of storms that went through the south didn't get me. We had a tornado watch all night till 8AM. I had pillowcases by the snakes in case I had to grab them and run- and I thought I would put all the pillowcases in a small cooler. I have a friend in Americus- but the tornado missed his home.

Today was pretty hectic for me!!
I work for a ticket booking agency(we book concert tickets and theatre tickets for bank customers with flashy accounts) and Take That tickets went onsale today for their new tour. It was ridiculously busy all day with people trying to get tickets... even after they had sold out!! The phone system broke twice under the stress!!! LOL Hasn't been that bad in a looong time.

Then, at lunch time i went to the bank and discovered i had got £160 in charges for unpaid standing orders....... that i had cancelled weeks ago!! And they are trying to say its my fault! I even have the confirmations that they were cancelled! Grrrr I hate banks! :angry01: :angry01:

Today has actually been pretty good! My name is still the same color it was when I woke up this morning (although it did change over-night), I didn't get bitten, urinated on, pooped on or get any anal gland secretions on me at work today. Hubby had dinner already started by the time I got home. OK...it wasn't the dinner I had planned and told him about when I left, and it was left-overs, but he at least tried! The kids haven't tried to kill each other and were actually playing together earlier in the evening. Hubby is currently napping and not talking to me about politics, religion or insurance. My cold is much better today and the other female thingy that has been way off cycle now that menopause has started for me is currently what used to be considered normal and easily managed (yesterday was a nightmare and reminded me of a certain scene in The Shining).

Now you've gone and told the internet how to get into your house! Nanci, how careless of you- I might have to track you down, get into your house, and steal your snakes, just to teach you a lesson about internet safety....
:grin01: :sidestep:

I bought a bunch of those energy-saver bulbs to go in my boyfriends apartment (I essentially live there, though I still have my own place.... I figured I needed to contribute to the electic bill in some way :))

I find they're great- as long as theyre not on dimmers- if they are, they'e always kinda weirdly flckering.

They actually do save a lot of energy, but they take a while to get to full brightness. I guess they need time to "warm up"?

huh.

The BEST so far this month...

My day was great!
Had the day off from work...
Found $20 bill in jeans while doing laundry...
Finally got a REAL digital camera (not that crap on my cell!)...
Waiting for Yolanda Vega to announce that I have the single winning ticket...

As I was getting ready to leave my son(who works in the area I was working in (not my normal area) said everyone was leaving at that time. Because the weather was so bad. I was leaving at 6 hours because I had to get my daughters. The rest were suppose to work 8 hours. But because of the weather they let everyone leave after 6 hours(I HATE bad weathter at times!)
