The weather finally cleared enough for him to be shipped. I can't wait for his blues and grays to develop and contrast our TBS. Well here he is... Dirty Harry!
Oh and was he a pleasant little snake when I opened the deli container..... s'd up and the whole show. I decided it would be best to just set the container in his viv and let him slither out rather than start our first day with a bit.
Tara, Nathan Foster and Rick Krumrine have some very nice beauty snakes! You and Lauren could try a smaller ssp. to start like a Chinese Beauty they stay pretty small maybe as big as a big adult corn.
AWESOME, Sheldon!!!! Dirty Harry looks great. AND it fits... he can give you that Dirty Harry look and you'll know he's saying, "Go ahead, punk. Make my day!" or "You feelin' lucky, punk!" LOL. WHOO HOOO for you and Katie!!!!!
Hahaha yea... yesterday he definitely gave me that speech. He is one active lil fella... or was until he found his moist hide. I can't wait for his settling in period to pass so I can get a grasp on if I have a little hellion or what. Dr. S had a pretty on and off sour temperament for a while but she grew out of that. So we'll see with this little fire cracker. (I just hope he isn't like our Okeetee... mean little punk)
Even when you give them a BIG food item, don't Asian Beauties seem like they can wolf down an even BIGGER one???? They really do stretch out pretty good. LOL.
I wish I had a camera handy last night for feeding time. We had 4 snakes to feed; our three corns and Mr. No-so-nice VBB. All the corns just pounded down their mice, when it came Callahan's turn to come out he went all out. I got musked twice, bitten about 7-10 times, almost constant hissing and flaring up his body. I'm used to him striking when getting him out but this was the first that he decided to pull out every card he had. Then after he finally calmed down and become somewhat docile.... he refused his meal... What a night. :angry01:
So time to wait a few days and try again. This was the first meal he has refused with us (he has eaten 3 times all with no problem once he calmed down and noticed the hopper and not my hand) Oh well.. next time I'll have a camera handy... I'm sure this wasn't the last time he'll act like this. Ohhh Asian Beauties! :grin01:

Dr. S always amazes me when we happen to get that one rat in the bag that is huge compared to the rest. She normally eats med/large adult rats. But sometimes a extra large will be packed in with them. I don't ever want to waste one so I'll give it to her and she'll hammer it down I mean she's a big girl but she'll slam down a rat that is for a decent sized boa. I don't know how she does it but she never seems fazed and we have yet to have a regurge with her (she's almost 8 years old). I am in no way saying I power feed our snakes but if I payed for it and I know she'll eat it.... well.. go for it big girl!
