Kids & Snakes

Thanks, Lori! I have tried to "pass along" my love for them to my kids... BUT, my oldest just told me as long as he's not in any pictures... So perhaps I still have some work to do with him!

Well, no one has posted any more "Kids and Snakes"... so I'll restart! Here's a couple of my 10 year old daughter Caitlyn with Corrinne.

#2... she was scared... but I plopped Corrinne in her hand anyway. LOL.

Okay... 1 more!

That does it! REVIVE the THREAD! Post away!

You should submit some of those photos to "Reptiles" magazine. They usually have a lot of pictures, and perhaps you could write a small story describing your families interaction and experiences with snakes (I think the section is called "living with reptiles). I think your pictures really show how silly the general stigma against snakes is, and can encourage other youngsters to learn more about them.

Just a thought!

Thanks for the "thought", Michael. I just might look into that. Only problem is, my pictures usually look like CRAP! :) My only saving graces are the subjects of the pics. LOL.

I don't think your pictures look like crap at all. Plus, it's better to have happy kids holding friendly snakes, that unhappy kids running from snakes in high definition :)! I think the point is just that your pictures seem to capture a connection between interested children and misunderstood animals. That is really the important part, and I think your photos send a better message than some others I've seen in there (like a 5yr old girl with a monster boa around her shoulders).

Why thank you! I appreciate that observation!

Great pics, Fred! Once I get my new camera battery charger, I'll have to add an update too!

Well, I know that I'm beating a dead horse trying to get others to post on this... but I'll keep going if no one else will. LOL.

Here are a couple I took on 10/05/2009... Enjoy!

I know ya'll have to have had some photo opportunities of "Kids and Snakes"... so share them! LOL.

Thank you Fred for adding your kids with snakes! I almost forgot about this one of Ryan with Demios when he came home from basic. I know it is not a snake but the Tegu is part of our reptile collect as well.

Enjoy! Add your kids with reptiles everyone!

Well, if I had young kids around, I'd take, and post, some photos. Alas, I do not.
~However~, one of my daughters is pregnant ... with twins! So, I may have some "kids & snakes" photos eventually (although I am so not ready to be a grandmother ... too young for that title! :grin01:).
Meanwhile, I'll just enjoy your "kids & snakes" photos and those of others.:)

Makes sense, Deb! Congrats on your soon to be "grandmotherhood". I hope that all of us will be on here - and that thread will be on here - long enough to eventually see your twin grandchildren on the "kids & snakes" thread!

AND, I have no problem with just enjoying. :)

I hope no one minds if I resurrect this awesome thread! I love looking at all these pictures of kids with snakes, so I'll add one too. This is my 8 year-old sister with her amel stripe, Popsicle:

Here's my lil girl Lexus with Buddeh. Everytime I take him out she is ALL over him just LOVES snakes.

While she was holding buddeh I asked her "What would mommy do if I put buddeh around her neck" this is the face I got ;)

As I said she LOVES snakes. She wanted to bring this one home for the Herp Expo :p

LOL Buddeh is huge!! Yikes!

My snakes are my kids... I wonder if I can find any of my nephews holding them??
