Look what we brought home today

4riscorn

ACR#774 NevaeH Reptiles
We went to the NVRS in Manassas today intending on getting one striped female corn from Rick Krumrine. But we came home with not only my stripe hatchling but an adult male snow and an adult female (possibly a blood/pied low diffusion, but maybe u can tell me) Take a look at what we got. The snow (Adonis) weighs in at 293 grams and is 42", the striped (Layla) is the same size as our Willie-just 11 g and 14", and the blood???? (Venus) is 240 g and 41 1/2" and they all are so sweet. They are strong and loved to be held. Great disposistions. And Rick is super! Thanks!!!! for all the recommendations!

We have gotten 5 corns since Jan 15th and we still want more...I reallllllyyyyy want a caramel stripe

The last snake is not a bloodred. She has belly checkers, which automatically refute any idea of her carrying the diffused genes in homozygous form.

It's hard to find pictures of corns that "match" because there's naturally a ton of variation. Hypo means "reduced black". She could be a hypo, because there is little black, or she could be a normal. You'd have to breed her to a *known* hypo to be sure.

I just found a pic that closely resembles her that is a hypo, not sure which variation though. Here it is

Is your husband psychic?? I seem to remember you posting about him getting you a 20L "just in case" you guys got an adult... Hm, seems pretty fishy... Lol! ;)

Congrats! What wonderful, gorgeous additions! I agree on the female.. Not a bloodred due to the belly checkers. I'm tempted to think she's just a normal because what black she does have is pretty solid, but she could easily be a hypo. VERY nice colors on her, either way!

Floof: having extra's "just in case" is always a good idea :D

That is an AMAZING normal at the least. The colors are so vibrant. BEAUTIFUL! My "Hypo" male is more on the yellow/orange side and he doesn't have as many belly checkers as yours and they aren't solid black either. here is a thread with pics of mine, scroll down the page he is the second snake.

Nice new additions! Of course, the stripey baby is my favorite, but the others are beautiful, too! Especially the hypo.

Look what you did! Nice snakes, that's a pretty normal.
Sorry I missed you at the show, I got there very late. Looks like you're hooked, I'm sure we'll meet at one!

Just to let everyone know--this pic is not my corn, just a hypo pic I found online just in case I confused anyone

We went to the show and I knew it was supposed to be small so I didn't have many expectations. We got there around 8:50 and there were only 2 other people there. I thought "Great, this isn't a good sign". At first trip around the tables, I didn't see anything--since I was specifically going for a sub caramel stripe. Then I took another trip around and heard someone say Rick's name...he told me he'd be there. But I'd never met him so didn't know what he looked like. His tables were packed on my first trip around (people poured in at 9:00 when the doors opened and even though he was close to the front door, I was heading around the opposite direction and missed him). Hubby told me to push my way into the tables and look at all of them. So I did and found Rick. I saw the stripe and at first wasn't interested since she is a hatchling....and not a caramel stripe. But the more I looked at her, the more I liked her. Then I held her and she just layed in my hands and fell asleep! And she was all over the place on the table. Then I looked down at her and said "You wanna go home with me?" and she stuck her little head up and looked right at me...that is all it took. The other two on the other hand, I had nothing to do with. Jacob kept holding hatchlings then decided on holding the hypo. And he didn't want to put her down and she didn't want to be put down...they litertally had to pull her off him to put her in her "to go home cup". Then we walked around some more and ended up back at Rick's and Mike decided to hold the snow and immediately fell in love with her. It was afterwards he said he decided he wanted 20 now!!!!! And we are planning on going to Hamburg (not sure April or June) so who knows what we will come home with...but we better make more racks..and space!! We left the show around 11:00 with 3 snakes and a bag of frozen mice...and happy!!
