My 1st pips!

Wyldrose

Addicted to corns!
It's day 55, I didnt expect anything. I went to check the temp in the incubator, it's hot today and I have 3 pips!!
There are 8 eggs in there and just the 3 are pipping/cut so far.
All 3 are normals, which means she was bred with my male and not the "male" amel she was housed with at the petshop. Zomba the sunglow was purchased as a male in January.
The parents are a female sunglow and a male diffused, all the babies should be normals het fire.
Little noses :)

It's funny how these 3 in a row pipped lol!

They could not have timed things better today was day 1 of my vacation!

So baby # 1 made it out but it looks diffused??
What do you all think is my sunglow a het diffused or does this little one have very strong het diffused markers?

Belly is clear

So far this is the only one out. 7 more to go :)

2 more out! One more diffused! This is so exciting. I was thinking it's possible my diffused was het amel but I never dreamed that my girl is het diffused :)
#2 diffused, this one is very brown, probley because it's in blue :)

#3 a very red normal het fire

I would say strong het markers. The first snake you showed has obvious checkers on the neck, showing it is not an actual diffused.

Those "checks" are on the side of it's neck, not under.

The last 5 have their noses poking out :)

Are you sure that's the same one? Because the markings don't match count-wise along the length of the neck. Plus, those are still belly checkers there.

3 more are out :)
#4 normal

#5 normal

Can you get full belly shots of everybody when they come out?

Here are the 1st 3 that look diffused, there is one more in egg with the same head pattern

#1 I do see checks now that I look closer
070-4.jpg

#2 not as many checks?
073-3.jpg

#3 diffused looking or hatchling #6, no checks at all
074-2.jpg

Hatchling # 6 has a very bald head

So it looks like from a clutch of 8, 4 very normal looking normals and these 4 odd balls. There is still a normal and a diffused looking in egg with their heads poking out.

Really extreme expression of the masque gene?? I'll be interested to see how they sex. Can you add pics of mom and dad?

# 7 normal

#8 is out and still has it's umbilical stuck to it so I have it in a small container with moist paper towels. I'll give it time to absorb it. It looks like the 3 diffused looking :) I'm going to send a couple pics of them to Rebecca Purdom, the male is from her and see if she's hatched any normals like them :)

So I tried to pop them but they are so tiny lol! I candled them and it looks like 1,2 are male, 3,4,5 females and 6 males. I could see hemi penes on #6 when he was still wet and gooy.
