My right to bear arms is under fire right now.

You will never be denied your right to bare arms lol. It is the right to bear arms that is currently under assault in this country. But on a serious note thank you for your service to this country.

I've long wanted this thread title typo edited.

I didn't want to mention it....but.....yeah!

The thought behind this thread is way more important that the misuse of a word, so I kept my silly typing fingers still.

I think the right to bear arms, and the right to bare arms are both super important, the latter especially in the summertime!!!

HAH!! It's finally getting warm enough around here where I can bare legs. :grin01:

Speaking of guns, I was checking on something and went to the site that I used to buy a lot of my ammo from -> http://www.ammoman.com. Heck, he's sold out of just about everything, and anything he does have left is darn expensive.

I guess if they can't ban guns, they can sure try to starve them to death.

Unfortunately, you might be right. The Constitution may protect our right to bear arms, but as far as I remember, it doesn't say anything about ammunition.

Collect and reload your own brass! Ammunition may be hard to come by, but the components should be easier to locate as many folks don't reload, and a simple reloading setup is not that expensive, especially compared to the cost of retail ammo.

I am actually thinking about reloading my stuff in the future. I keep all of my .45 LC brass, and 9mm. Though I have no idea what I am doing when it comes to reloading, so I need to meet some local people who know how to do it, so I can learn from them. LOL

Too late. I reload and supplies are becoming just as scarce as the ammo now. My last trip to get some I was able to get 1000 primers but no bullets, no powder, and no brass (getting lower than I like to be). Of course it really depends on what you reload.

I used to reload many years ago, and have all the equipment and supplies still around here somewhere. It's tedious and time consuming, to be sure, but somewhat enjoyable to pass the time.

It's not something you should do in a rush or while distracted, though. Double charging a case with power will likely ruin your day, if not at least your gun. Just pay attention to what you are doing, and make every bullet as if THAT ONE will be the one in your gun when you REALLY need it to work. Yeah, I know some people will claim that you should never use reloads for self defense, but I would have much more faith in the ammunition I made myself than the factory stuff anyway. In all the years and many thousands of rounds I made, I only had one single misfire. Probably from a contaminated primer, which is actually the most critical part of the entire reloading process. I can't say that about all the factory stuff I have fired, as I know I had more misfires than that.

Argh - so much for that bright idea. I haven't kept a gun in a while (my wife is highly opposed to keeping them), but I'm leaning toward getting one again. After watching what a glancing blow from hurricane Ike did to the Houston area, civil unrest (how oxymoronic a term is that, by the way) worries me more than anything these days.

My wife is opposed to them as well. But, she knows that I will have my guns, and would like to start hunting again. So, like with my xbox, she has yielded to my wants, once again...LOL

Tsst, I recently posted that on my FB page. It didn't get any response from my pro-gun control friends...LOL

Three 'road rage' shootings in Jacksonville in the past week. But, since absolute liberty is always the solution, I don't dare insinuate that allowing people to buy and keep loaded handguns in their cars without a single impediment, including any kind of gun safety course, is to blame. As has been said, regulation is but a slippery slope to confiscation!

Yes because punishing the law abiding for the acts of a lawbreaker is always the solution that works. /sarcasm

Oy Vey! :headbang:

Yes... Lord only knows any kind of 'course', on guns or otherwise, can only be construed as a puntative measure... Not to mention LAWS! Only fictions by some ethereal government I must always guard against. I'll try that banging my head against the wall thing for a while... See if I can wrap my head around the utter complexity of this indefatigable 'guns as panacea' argument...
