Need Florida Snake ID

Yeah, it's a coachwhip. Seen them around here fairly often, but they are more commonly banded in this area. I caught one years ago that went perfectly rigid like it was catatonic. Felt just like I was holding onto a stick rather than a live snake. No matter what I did, he wouldn't move. So I laid him on the ground and walked away. After a few minutes, he looked around and just shot away..... So far, I've never heard of anyone else experiencing a coachwhip behaving like that one did.

They are actually pretty neat snakes, but I don't want them around here eating up all the lizards.....

Stick Mimicking

I had a juvenile racer act that way, wn riegt rigid but in a twisted shape and refused to move until I walked out of site. He looked like a small twig laying on the ground

You are persistent. I'll play.

What size corn is it? What are you currently trying to feed it? What kind of corn snake is it? Can you write in a complete sentence?

Sure, now you show up after the snake's long gone...I really need to see one in person. I was convinced that was a pitt-like head.

:D Sorry, I've been avoiding reptile forums ever since all that crap at Freedom went down. I really got upset over how he burned me, but it sounds like I got out good when I did.

As for seeing a masticophis head. Here's an eastern Chase and I caught this past fall. Not a great angle but you can still see the head shape and eye.
