Need photo critiquing...are any of these good?

I need to take a few good pictures for a biology project....they must be natural landscapes, plants, wildlife, etc. Unfortunately, the weather is not exactly pretty this time of the year..... :awcrap:

Please tell me if you think any of these are "silent-auction" quality (bidding starts at only $5). And don't be afraid to be honest!! I wish I had something nicer to photograph on a rainy day in my backyard.....:rolleyes:

Here are the smaller versions of some:

I like them a lot. 2 and 3 are my favorite, composition/color wise. I think the last two (with the berries) would be neater if you could fill the space with more of the berries. It looks a bit...barren? That's just me, though. Otherwise, lovely shots! :}

I liked 8 as well but didn't want to overwhelm you with too many. So far 2 & 8 are getting the most positives. Would either of them work for the class?

I like 9..

1, to me, looks too much like it was taken in a studio with a white backdrop...the tree behind it looks like the front trees shadow on a white backdrop.
I think the berry ones would be better with super macro shots, the subject is too small otherwise.
I like 9 best, subject fills the screen/multiple points of interest, I think it would look good with a black frame and white matte board.

10 I'm undecided on, maybe my 2nd fav.

Since you were looking for a critique . . . and I preface it with I'm completely point-and-shoot-amateur, I like the pictures and the simplicity of the subjects. They look too dark on my screen.

At a first glance I have to say the worst of the bunch are 11 and 12. There is no composition, make sure to not center the item in the photo buy itself like that.
4 and 5 are my favorites, now if that needle wasnt cut off in the top of 5 in my eyes it would be darn near perfect. I do not like things trailing off in a frame like that, just a few mm and you would have a perfect show.
