Need your opinion

I like macro phototography...I'd have to say the dragonfly, and the first moth one (or is it a butterfly :shrugs:)

Ok the canyon shot is my favorite as it is one of those shots that not everyone can get you had to be there at the right place and the right time. 2nd is the little girl on the beach cause it does invoke the imagination and play with emotion and has a tie to almost anyone who views the photo. 3rd is between the dragon fly and the grayband both have good negative space, great definition, and color. I am leaning a little more to the dragonfly. They are all great photos. I wish you the best of luck

I don't think a snake would win. I'd pick the tiger, the dragonfly, the open-winged butterfly. But I love the picture of Pele, as well as that two snake picture on the branch that isn't here.

I liked the little girl on the beach it looks like a hallmark card seriously. Then it would be the tiger, first butterfly shot, and dragonfly. All of them are awesome though I have no clue how you could pick just one.

as well as that two snake picture on the branch that isn't here.
That one isn't here because I had already used it in a past challenge on the site. That is the only stipulation - can't use a photo that has already been used in a previous challenge. That would have been my hands down choice if not for that rule.

Okay...Here are my top 3 at least..

The Butterfly on the flower is my top fav.
The canyon is my second choice
and the tiger would be my third fav.

Maybe if ya at least narrow it down to three it'll be a little more easier..lol

Looking at the technical aspect of the shot as well as subject matter, I have to say the canyon stands out. Some of the other pics aren't as technically impressive or the subject matter is too mundane (not that kids, tigers and weddings aren't good material). I do like the GBK second for the intensity of the focal point and the negative space. Good luck!

My first 2 picks would be the dragonfly and then the butterfly with open wings.
My third choice would be the wedding couple on the bike, but honestly they all are awesome pics!

The canyon does indeed....

standout. But usually I see B&W pics winning contest. I would go with the little girl or the canyon. Snakes may hold a prejudice with some. The snake pics are great of course, but.....
Of course my experience is limited to just walking through photo contest, never judging.

I can see why you are having so many problems choosing just one Katie. I'm having a hard time picking just one myself! I absolutely adore that 1st pic (Dax?), and that wedding pic with the motorcycle is just awesome. The landscape shot is just spectacular, though I'm a bit partial ;) I think the black and white pic is great too, though I'll assume that it just won't jump out at some people the way it jumps out at me.

Hmmm... this is a tough one. Your favorite pic rarely ends up being everyone else's favorite. For the contest's sake, maybe you should go with the tiger pic? I think you would have a better chance of winning with that one.

The Grayband is actually Ronon. And surprisingly, my snake photos have fared fairly well on the site, even in contests. The majority of votes really do vote on the technical aspects foremost, so even if they have an aversion to snakes, they judge the photo on its technical merits.

However, spectacular landscape photos really seem to win a lot of the challenges.

Here is a re-edit of the canyon shot I posted earlier, as well as some others I have re-edited:

I gotta say, Katie....the landscape shots are AWESOME....but I wouldn't go with the B/Ws. The layers/striations of the different colors in the rock is breathtaking, and need to be highlighted.

How much post-camera 'shopping went into those?

Not much. Those were taken on my old Fuji digital camera. The biggest editing I did was using Noise Ninja to sharpen the images a bit. Color is almost exactly as it was out of camera.

Well, in that case....

When were these taken?

Not sure if you have made your decision, yet, but my choices would be:

#1 - Web photo (It is "artistically" interesting and the subject is clear & emphasized)
#2 - Tiger photo (awesome portrait and shows great detail)
#3 - Open winged butterfly photo (Subject, & that in its range, is clear & emphasized)
#4 - Dragonfly
