New jungle corn- pics

Hypancistrus

New member
Here he is, picked him up from the shop today. He has lived in a 5 gallon tank for a year, and seems to be enjoying the chance to really stretch out in his new 20L. He is an '05. Only thing I need is a water bowl- had one, but it is just WAY too small for him. So I am off to Walmart to get a bowl after this.

he's so cute!
I love his little black hat!
I'd call him Oswald Cobblepot, because of the hat....

Hes an 05 and he was living in a 5 gallon? Mercy. Im glad hes better off now! I think he looks like a Durango too.

Darn it, I wanted to be the first to breed Cornangos lol.. I might have to try it if that's what the babies will look like, he is awesome :)

I had been wondering if a cross like that would even work because corns and mtn kings are pretty dissimilar and I hadn't heard of any others... but apparently it can be done? Anyway the Durango is just a guess, the saddles on Hypancistrus' snake are quite different, maybe that's where the corn influence comes in

Very handsome, interesting looking snake...I like the marking on his head. :) As for a name...well, related to jungle -- Mowgli. :) Related to words like Durango...well, I looked up Durango (a state in Mexico) and found out that it is famous for scorpions -- Alacran (with the accent on the last syllable). Pancho Villa is from Durango. Maybe Pancho? :) So was Dolores del Rio, a famous Mexican actress. Maybe Rio? Rio also makes me think of the Duran Duran song, which makes me think of the Amazon because it is an enormous "rio." Rio would be a cute name...:)

That is, unless you absolutely hate Duran Duran. :)

I named my new little female Jungle Messua, Mowgli's adopted mother.

He is simply gorgeous!! That is one of the nicest jungle corns I have ever seen.

I was thinking corn X alterna, but I can see thayeri, too. VERY nice animal!

Interesting looking guy.

I think you should name him Rufus Wainwright. Dunno why. I've been seeing him in commercials on the LOGO channel and it popped into my head when I saw pictures of this guy. I guess because of the nice red he has.
