I just picked up my pretty baby corn today! Her name is Dante, and I am very excited to have her.

Congrats. That's awfully young to send home, but it sure looks big for that age. If you run into any problems or have questions, you've come to the right place.

Welcome to all the rave! Beautiful baby you have there. Dante seems to be a popular name amongst corns these days. And why not? It fits really well!

Good luck getting the new one acclimated. Don't be afraid to ask questions, folks here are really good at helping out whenever it's needed.

They said she is about two weeks old now, I've been looking for forum groups that are specifically for corn snakes :)
Glad to be here and have my little baby! The only thing I have had a problem with is feeding, when I picked her up today they said that today is feeding day, and that I should feed her soon. I tried, but she didn't respond. (I used a 1 day old frozen bought pinky that I defrosted and made warm) I tried leaving her in the feeding tub for a few hours with it, teasing her with if after warming it again, but she won't bite. Any suggestions?

I wouldn't feed right now. We recommend no feeding or handling for the first 5 to 7 days. This gives the baby a chance to get use to their new home before getting use to you. Once that period is over go ahead and feed and put back in tank for a couple of days to digest. I am not really surprised your snake is not eating since you just got it. It is stressed and pushing the issue could really cause problems.

Since your baby is really young I would really recommend that burn in period of 5 to 7 days. Like Chip said he is young. Most of us do not allow our babies to go until they have had at least 3 meals without any tricks. Which would put the baby at about 4 weeks of age at the youngest.

Ah okay, she's probably just stressed out then, I'll wait about a week then :) Thanks for the info! I'll update as soon as something happens :)

Also, here is her set up:

Does it look okay? We have a thermostat in the mail right now also, along with a hiding place for her.
Any advice on what else I could do?

It looks good. Although I don't see any hides. I would get some hides. Babies love flattened toilet paper tubes. You said you are waiting for a thermometer to come in? Is there heat on the tank? If so what kind and how are you regulating it?

The hiding place is in the mail too ;) I have a heat lamp that I have on for about four hours at a time, two hours off and then on until night time. It's hard to keep up with, but totally worth it to keep her happy and healthy :)

She looks gorgeous, and Dante is a lovely name :) I second the hide, even toilet rolls are a fab idea from what I've read on this site.
Good luck and enjoy :D

When you can, replace that light bulb with a heat mat. Much more consistent heat, and proper temperatures have everything to do with her eating.

Thanks! :) I thought so too, I'm using a tp roll until the good one comes in the mail. I've actually got her with me right now, she's already very tame. Thanks for all the info guys!

For that matter, that deep bedding is a hide in itself.

Didn't see that comment about the bulb and the heat mat, the mat is in the mail along with the thermostat :)
How long should I wait to feed her? I got her early yesterday morning, and yesterday was when they said to feed her but she was too stressed out by the move and wouldn't eat. Should I try again today or wait a little longer?

True on chip's bedding point. Cruella loves when I add an extra layer in. She mostly uses her skull hide and her tree stump hide, but when I don't see her there (the other 15 - 20%) of the time, she's burrowing and asleep. Normally only when in the shed process now to think of it. I use Aspen bedding.

I'm using pine bedding, that's okay for snakes right? As far as I know as long as it's natural and has the sap taken out it is okay, but I may be misinformed.

No!! No pine or ceder. I would recommend aspen if you want to you wood chips. You can also use repti bark, newspaper, paper towel or care fresh. However change out that pine asap.
