Go Ahead, Make My Day!
I was feeling absolutely horrible since my Sunkissed anery escaped from his viv, so when Rich started his super 70% 0ff sale, I simply couldn't resist! I ordered the last male Ashy he had as well as a pair of Anery Upper Keys (and I had absolutely no idea what these even looked like, but figured they had to at least be interesting). My order arrived around noon yesterday, but I had to wait a couple of hours before I could open the package as I was in the middle of helping with surgeries. The first one out of the box was the ashy and I was very pleased to see it had that nice mahogany coloration. The next one out looked similar to the first, but not quite as colorful, so I figured that the anery Upper Keys looked sort of similar to the not-so-maroon ashy corn...until I saw the label saying "Ashy ♂ "...What? I double checked the first container...Yup, it said "Ashy" as well, but had " ♀ " next to it as well as a little yellow sticker saying "Freebie" which I had completely over-looked as I was concentrating on the snake itself! Flabbergasted, but ecstatic, I continued on to the next 2 containers which held the pair of anery Upper Keys, which are indeed interesting, to say the least!
I didn't get the chance to take photos yesterday, so took some today. Unfortunately, I chose the wrong color background for these snakes and had to do some major color adjusting as the camera added way too much red. These are fairly accurate, but will take others at another time, once they have really settled down, and on a different background, one that tends to show true coloration right from the start.
When I sent Rich a hearty "Thank You!", he replied saying that the female was an on-again/off-again eater and figured I would have a bit more time to work with her than he had.
Here is the ashy male (1st 2 photos) and the ashy female (last 3 photos):
