Normal stripe...or???

You know what she looks like to me, and there isn't such a thing AFAIK. She looks like a striped rosy rat. If my Boot Keys came in striped, I bet they'd look like that.

I was thinking the same thing. The colors are just right!

You know, I think you hit it on the head. I think you're right.

I'm going to vote terrazzo. Terrazzo originated in rosy ratsnakes and IIRC there are two lines one of which is more outcrossed - which would account for why some terrazzos don't look exactly like that. SMR works with a pure (Big Pine keys) locality line and I think the JMG line was outcrossed with a miami?. I have a pair of the SMR locality rosy rats that are het terrazzo and the color is similar. I don't know how one would end up in a petstore in canada, though.

Ya know...no matter what she ends up being...that's a pretty little snake! Nice find!

Well a little update since I first posted about her...I bred her to a caramel het amel as the butter mot male had zero interest in her at all, she is laying right now, not a huge clutch by any standards but a decent one for sure and she still looks AMAZING! :D I haven't removed the eggs yet but will do so after I get all of my 2 legged critters into bed. I will take another pic then and post it, the eggs are by far the largest I've had laid this year and out of a 2 yr old at that, I'm pumped (I have another girl laying right now too and I'm too excited about these ones to even worry about the other yet, LOL). So if she doesn't prove out het caramel then I will be seeking out a terrazo male to import this year, especially for her, I secretly hope she doesn't prove out caramel, just so I have a valid reason to bring in a terrazzo or two even if she doesn't prove out that either I will enjoy working with them as well ;)
Anyways I'll be back in a bit to post pics!!!

Well here they are! I sat down and forgot the count if it's 9 definite good and one questionable or 10 definite good and 1 questionable, whichever it is should be enough to provide insight on the caramel suspicion as well as any chance of amel. And a second pic with her and her reward for all of her hard work :) She still is in GREAT shape!

Yep you're right, there is 10, I just forgot when I sat down and it was before I had the pic handy.

Here's the pic from the photographer, not a natural setting at all but still a great shot I think!

Well for what it's worth to anyone I have now had 2 emails from breeders that are certain she is a terrazzo, one of those being Jeff Sr!
I'm not going to lie, the email from Jeff was pretty exciting just considering the amount of work he has done with the morph, still nervous to get my hopes up but I'm definitely more optimistic now!!:dancer:

I think you need to buy a Terrazzo male, or this is going to drive you crazy!!! Nice clutch!!

Haha Nanci!!
After a bit more research this morning and talking to another Canadian breeder, she said that there was in fact a pair brought up a few years ago, I'm going to try to source out the person that has/had the pair. As well I have a line on a pair that I can bring up, however the pair I am looking at will only be hatchlings so it'll be awhile before the male is ready :( But I can certainly tell you that most of the babies resulting from this clutch will stay with us, mmmmm butter terrazzo's :crazy02:

Well the babies are here!!! And we have awesome results that I am very happy with but leave me somewhat crazy!
We have:
1 normal
1 caramel
1 amel
1 hypo
2 butters
3 ambers
1 DIE
I think as far as odds go I lucked out big time!! I will post pics as soon as they shed.
That being said we are still going to source out a terrazzo male to breed her to in the future and these babies are staying here in the mean time :)

I think she looks like a striped miamaiphase, but that is almost the same as Keys.
