I wholeheartedly agree... I just wish more people would realize that a statement could be made if they voted for someone other than the two main parties... Your vote will not be "wasted" if enough people vote for third parties to actually get one elected. The main parties would then see that America agrees that enough is enough.

^ Big difference in content. The roots of the man above's argument (man above in the video, not "man above" is conservatism, and not spending money on (seemingly) needless things, such as cell phones for everyone... to which, I actually can agree (slightly). I've never had a cell phone, never sent a text, and never had a reason to. Track Phones are cheap enough, and provide all of the emergency calling I'd need. *I just need to replace mine, after it was stolen from my car. I disagree with the representations they chose for people who support Obama, but that's just typical politics.. anything anyone says, can-and-will be used against all of that group, in the court of public opinion.

The roots of Pastor Manning's assertions go much deeper than policy. It isn't as cut and dry as him sharing a difference in spending, foreign policy, etc.. It's him using material that has nothing to do with politics (or the truth) in order to create a fear driven campaign against Barrack Obama, by insinuating that Obama is un-American and lying about his own faith (basically, being "Muslim"). And just because he feels upset by Obama not promoting the religious ideals that he stands for (ideals of intolerance), he's willing to adopt the most outrageous political strategies in order to discredit him.

I personally don't think that the presidents faith should have any baring on his leadership ability. That said, I personally do not see our current president as the type of leader that America needs to get us out of this hole that past and present administrations have dug for us.

What you mean to say is, aside from the ridiculous implications of the "Where's your birth certificate" banners, and the obvious anti-Obama rhetoric and standard propaganda, he was "simply asserting..."

It's a no brainer that transparency and accountability should be held on both sides. It's the other nonsense that accompanies this idea that the country could do without...

He starts by criticizing Romney, 1stly (and mostly) for his Mormonism. But also as a way of carrying the message to their constituency that their "faith" is uniquely superior over others.

He then brings up "Mac-Daddy", which is his first attempt to mention (discredit) Obama, and for reasoning that doesn't hold weight. He also mentioned the name several times, to really get the association/reference in. It's really just his way a way of pointing out that he believes Obama to be unfaithful, untrue, and a liar, which is really just to promote the Christian conservative movements attempt to have the masses believe that Obama's (social) policies are "ungodly" (basically his stances/policies that are pro gay/women's/human rights.

Using the name "Mac-Daddy" to describe Obama also starts the aspect of race.. it's a stereotyped image for a black man to be a "player", "mac daddy", etc. And it's one of the least credible aspects to question of Pres. Obama. Again, political differences aside, he doesn't leave much to question about his loyalty and love of his family.

So why the nickname?... am I wrong to think race?.. I mean, if you listen to the first thirty seconds in context, all he does is discredit both candidates on the basis of racial stereotyping/racism and on religion. So what else is there for actual information to lend him credence that he isn't promoting prejudice material.

For the bulk of his 'argument' on issues besides religion and race, he goes on to say (to Obama) "you haven't come clean about anything!", without ever saying what "anything" actually is. All that really comes out of his whole rambling session is something to do with "transcripts"?.. (that I suppose he implies are not real???). But none of it was more than screaming "witch".

Then after about three minutes of doing nothing but implying that Obama is "hiding" (without any real reason or definition), he starts to attack Obama for not being able to be asked about why he's 'lying', and he goes into super preacher/actor mode (and plays to the 'black christian conservative' crowd) and starts accusing Obama of manipulating his race for personal gain, by saying in a frenzy, "oh.. you can't ask a black man.. you can't ask a black man...".. when he's really just trying to reinforce the narrative that implies Obama's simply using (or trying to use) race as his 'cover' for not being 'honest' (about things.. like "transcripts"?), or for being a "Mac Daddy"?..

And to end the entire dysfunctional (and poorly thought) act, he starts yelling "get whitey.. get whitey.. get whitey".. as though these are messages promoted by Pres. Obama. Which is not only a false way to discredit Obama, but it's also a cowardly way to separate himself, among his race, for his religion, which he feels gives him superiority over Pres. Obama.

Again, the video was a bunch of nonsensical, unsubstantiated claims that are irrelevant to this years election. His only purpose was to be provocative, and attach (his perceived) "foreigner", "unfaithful", "racially-unauthentic" identity to Obama, as a part of his larger hustle of preaching oppression for personal wealth.. it just disturbs me.

It's a game to control votes, and a game to pass the collection plate. And I can think of a lot of people that deserve the spotlight of a television show more than this guy.

Keep in mind propaganda does not necessarily mean untrue. Actually the quote was "... most people on food stamps vote democrat ..." You are not going to really try and refute that quote are you? I don't expect anything of anyone. You take it however you want. I took it as hyperbolic/sterotypical/ranting with some facts mixed in. I will give you hyperbolically stereotypical and overly encompassing but not unfounded. The woman in the video was definitely founded on fact. She was right before our eyes doing what he said.

Nope, I said what I meant. I opened by stating I didn't know anything outside the video about Mr Manning. I made no comment either way about the banner. My comments were based solely on what he said. The "simply asserting" part was a play on words extension from a previous post. Yes it may be anti-Obama propaganda but you can't be denying the underlying message are you? Obama has spent millions trying to keep secrets and he is calling for Romney to be more open. If that is not hypocritical I don't know what is. :shrugs:

As far as the vid I listened to it a few more times and never heard a word about muslim or religion other than when he spoke about Romney's Mormanism. He also called Romney Mittnessprotectionprogam, whatever that is. So he has established he doesn't like either guy.

He then plays a clip of Obama being interviewed. The interviewer asks Obama if he thinks Romney is unpatriotic for having a bank account outside the US and not telling everyone about it. To which Obama gives a long drawn out proclaimation that the people should know. Mr Manning calls him hypocritical (pot/kettle) for saying out of one side of his mouth Romney should be more open and out of the other side of his mouth ensuring his records are as closed as possible. We can only assume since Obama never refutes the unpatriotic charge and goes on the substantiate the balance of the interviewers question that he indeed believes Romney to be unpatriotic.

Mr Manning then goes on his rant about the MSM being so PC, which is pretty obvious. The black man whitey part seemed to me as hyperbolic rant directed at the media etc for that political correctness.

In summary, my perception is, Mr Manning doesn't like Obama or Romney. He thinks the press is far to PC. And he thinks Obama is a hypocrit for calling for Romney to be more open when he himself has not been so open.

It is a fact she will vote for Obama. She stated so. It is a fact she received a free phone. It is a fact that as she said if you're on gov entitlements you get a free phone. It is a fact she believes keeping Obama in office gets her more. Again she stated so. It is a fact entitlements encourage some not to work. It is a fact Obama has spent money hiding some of his past. Having done so it is a fact that he is being hypocritical by saying Romney should be more open. It is a fact that the MSM is liberally biased and overly PC. I missed the part where he said Obama was lying. That is not fact. He accuses him of hiding info but I didn't hear him say lying at any point.

Making healthcare more affordable.... Has not happened.... I know someone personally who has stated, if Obamacare fully goes into effect she and her family will no longer be able to afford her dialysis or the Kidney transplant that she has been on the list for 2 years for.

So, there are a couple of lies for you. Also, the man is a politician, he is a liar by trade, and it comes with the territory. Anyone who thinks that any politician is telling the truth all the time is delusional. I would go so far as to say that politicians probably tell the truth about 20% of the time, the rest is lies.

Yes, he did also criticize Romney. But it was over his Mormonism, not his political ideology. Which, to me, is the prejudicial equivalent of implying that Obama is a "Mac Daddy". But it doesn't excuse the other, simply because he's diverse in his prejudice.

As for what he specifically accuses Obama of (and not of), it's only open to interpretation. So of course, this is all my interpretation (as anything is, for anyone). But it's not to his credit that he doesn't make any direct accusation. That could very well have to do with his lack of evidence and reasoning for a specific accusation. So he resorts to using emotion and "passion", in spots where his yelling witch doesn't stick.

So while he doesn't say (flat out) that Obama is a Muslim, UN-American, etc.. his message of Obama lying about who he is carries over into the greater message of accusing President Obama of being UN- American, Muslim, etc.. It's all drawn from the same political initiative. Where Obama becomes unpopular among Manning's constituency for his progressive views on church and state, Manning becomes more popular for his message of religious oppression. And where Obama's 'authenticity' as an American (or as a man of faith) has already been one of undeniable contention for the extreme right, who (some of which) have been willing to promote racist messages, Manning seems more than comfortable enough piggy backing off of the message for self-serving purposes.

Otherwise, if this is not the case, I really don't understand the video whatsoever, I suppose??? Because other than to promote a vague message of harmful, unsubstantiated accusations (prejudice), I didn't see any actual information being given.

To add, I WANT the president (and presidential candidates) to be questioned. Especially Pres. Obama. He was the one in office the last four years, so he has the most that he should be questioned about.

But for the same reason that I want him to be questioned, it bothers me watching coverage go to a preacher with a TV show, that has a conspiracy.
