Oh, Craigslist...

Thanks, it was a fun little adventure.. I was working with the city of long beach shelter here in NY for a while when it was run by the idiots of Rescue Ink... They got in this guy we found his owner later that day, a couple of retics, boas, and these guys kept together in way too small of a tank.. that nothing happened was a miracle.. we also got a kayman in... smh... animals people had tried to sell on CL but failed... they dumped them outside...

Here is more of the sulcata, as you can see he hasn't been flawless taken care of either, the shell is supposed to be smooth, not pyrmides.

So yeah CL animals that doens't get sold ends up in the shelter system just like any other animal...

Oh, he is beautiful! I love their gentle, wizened, sweet faces. Our neighbors had two of them in their backyard, I never saw them but they moved out recently and the backyard is completely torn up. I am glad I didn't get one (have thought about it) but our yard is too landscaped for one. They would tear up the sprinkler system and there is too much electrical wiring underground for the lighting system. Or they would fall in the pool. THAT is my worst fear.

And it is "cayman".

Thanks for the pics!

I wonder what happens to their new puppy when it grows up and the kids get tired of it. Makes me sad they they're teaching their kids it's ok to get pets and then just discard if them whenever you feel like it.

EXACTLY what I was thinking. How can you consider yourself a parent if you think like this? But I look at the world as a whole, things would be so different if I got to make the rules.

I don't see any problems with the setup or the reptibark. I stopped using reptibark because it was hard to find poop in there and it could get dusty....I had an amel corn that I kept in a tank almost that large as he loved to crawl around and climb. He later went to a school as a classroom snake and lived in a two story 5 ft tall, by 4 ft wide cage. He loved it!

Oohhh welll I thought it was dangerous to have the chips in there because they can ingest them?? Also I thought that 75gal tank was too big for a cornsnake because they liked smaller spaces... I guess I just am biased because I prefer my set up for my baby lol

Only if you feed them on it...and even then....I doubt it would be a real problem. There is no "too big" or "too small"....some snakes don't do well in a large space or require loads of hiding things to make them happy.....others love to roam about and a smaller cage would be less appropriate for them. I had a green tree python that was housed in a smaller tub for much longer than many of my others because she just didn't handle the change to a larger "normal" sized cage. I finally got her transitioned but she was just more nervous. My amel cornsnake that I mentioned above would have been less content in a regular 30 gl as he was a larger animal and LOVED to roam....he climbed everywhere....you have to judge the animal and house accordingly.
