Artz and Snakez
This is Espeon. Parents are Nox and Kash, both charcoals het for amel, ph bloodred and motley. I was trying to get opinions on whether she may be a motley blizzard or possibly a whiteout (she's not going to be bred, so this is for my own peace of mind).

And her belly:

She is notoriously hard to photograph, because her pattern is terribly faint. She is freshly shed. No checks on her belly that I can see, no visible pattern on her sides. Yes, that's a smear of poo on her tail =P Silly snake.

She was the only one with a clear belly. Several of the charcoal brood had split belly checks and masque patterning on their heads, but no clear bellies.

In contrast, this is cluchmate Glaceon:

I was happy as anything that I got the blizzards out of the clutch, because that was what I wanted. Anything else is just icing on the cake.

I'm leaning toward blizzard, but can you take a similar photo of her belly, just holding her in your hand, between your fingers? (They hate that). It's the only way to get a clear enough shot to possibly see if she has the telltale clear scales of bloodred.

I agree with Nanci (& Rich) that better pictures are in order, but I'm leaning towards saying the first snake pictured is probably a Motley.

Beautiful babies, both of them! :)

Sorry it's taken a few days to get back to these. Spring is just too busy sometimes :)

Anyway...this is Espeon's belly again:

And her sister Glaceon for comparison:

Espeon's the one I was wondering about...I can't see any markings on her belly (especially compared to her sister, who has very faint but clear patterning on her tummy)

I think I see a couple of checkers on Espeon's belly in that photo. When I get home I'll 'redline' them for you.

I'm seeing them as well( cell phone).

That's the thing about blizzards..... ;)

Those belly checkers always come in slow & very light at first....
But the more time that passes the more evident they become. ( as the yellow develops).

These are my first blizzards, and the contrast is quite vivid between the two in person. Our snow was so much easier to see the checks on =P

This is definitely why I needed a second opinion though...my eyes aren't the best and better safe than sorry.
