I've tried to post some old school pics. I D classes and a couple of expos I put on but I keep getting these file too big messages when I try to upload.
 
It's not in the site rules...just in the CS.com religious book thingy. No actual evidence that the rule exists. But it does!
 
I'm sorry but that's completely rude Airenlow. No where does it state only contributing member can post big pictures... I can't believe no one else has spoken up about this. While I don't agree with everything Lavender has posted there's no reason to be so rude.


Lavender, I normally have to resize my photo's using photobucket before I can post. Normally a pic straight from my desktop is WAY to big. Simply create an account, upload your pictures to photobucket and copy/paste the img code to the forum and you'll be able to post your pictures.
 
How big were the pictures you were trying to upload? If you look at the uploader, it will tell you the maximum file size and dimensions yaknow.... There's this handy "attachment key" at the bottom of the upload manager. Right there. In plain sight.
 
I would personally use a host like Photobucket and, if need be, you a thumb-nail with "pops to bigger". Hell, all the pics that Geckilian's posted are externally hosted, we both have a tendency to post pictures on multiple sites, so it makes sense to only upload them once.
 
You can also just resize pictures in 'paint'. I typically just resize to 20% in both width and height and then the files usually end up ok to post on here.
 
There's a website called picresize.com

You choose the pic you want to resize from your harddrive.

Go to step two and choose custom size.

Type in 800 pixels. Leave the height blank, unless it is a lengthwise, portrait orientation, then type in 800 in the height instead.

I think you're okay to save as JPG, Best type, but if the file size is too large when you go to upload here, then just use "better."
