More are out...and I noticed something interesting...

Okay guys, next round of pics...lol

But I would like to point out something interesting I noticed late last night...

All the babies are normals (too much black to be hypos IMO)..BUT some are considerably lighter than others. (Thank you to the two who posed for pics to illustrate my point! lol)

Upon closer inspection, the lighter ones appear to be het blood, they have more blood-like head markings and they ALL have the "typical het blood" belly pattern thing going on. ALL the dark ones have normal belly checkers...

Your thoughts?

Oh yes and despited PROMISING myself...I...uh...might be keeping the light on in these pics.... :noevil:

Nice! I would keep that lighter one too, if it were me. I would say the lighter ones most likely picked up the hypo gene and the bloodred gene. Def worth keeping the light one to find out one day. :)
 
Since you know your keeping it lol make sure to post more pics as it progresses...kinda neat you being south of the equator; gives us pipper pics to see during the dead of winter :*)
 
Congrats! Those are in fact some lovely pippies.

I would think that the lighter one with the bloodred like head pattern picked up a gene for it too! Maybe you should hold onto it and prove it when it gets older!

Either way, I hope you enjoy all the babies!
 
GROUP PICS!!

Pics of all the babies!!! 14 hatched and are healthy and look FANTASTIC!! Two were DIE...shame...They were both deformed though. :sobstory:

Anyways, I have split them up and put 7 in a tub. I will put them all in their own tubs once they have shed and are ready for their first meals...

Aren't they too darn cute though?!?!?!?!? Love them to bits!!!

Congratulations! They are adorable. Does look like maybe hypo is in there along with BR, ahhh just keep a couple pairs and check! ;)

I dont brumate, or I should say I havent brumated my adults and this will be my 2nd year. They seem to be getting 'ready' so there should be eggs coming here soon and yours are already hatching! First I want to move out some 08's, make a thread or two requesting what cs.com members would like to see paired (with what I have), or maybe do loan? I have a couple in mind.... *crosses fingers* hoping that the one person decides yes!! The other I have yet to ask. :-offtopic

The hypo blood/ghost blood clutch is due next, they will be 60 days old on 1 Feb 2009... :) Been struggling with mould and "fur" with this clutch though...but we will see what happens...

ALL the babies in the clutch are het hypo...they are also poss. het Blood and anery. :)
 
Fantastic, congrats Meg.
My first clutch of 4 eggs laid have all totally indented, had to throw them away.
The clutch from the big layer looks ok so far.

How old were the eggs? They will indent when they are close to hatching...
What substrate are you using? Sounds like they are getting dehydrated...

These eggs were at about 20 days, the substrate I use is vermiculite which I have used for the past 6 breeding seasons. The difference was in the container, I recently moved house and the only thing I had was an exoterra cage, I agree with you that this caused the moisture to evaporate too quickly leading to dehydration, you now how hot it gets here in Durbs'.

I will keep everyone posted on the development of the other eggs in my own post, I always seem to hijack yours. My apologies.
