possible new morph? You decide

I see a normal or classically colored motley and what appears to be a lavender motley. I suppose it could be a het motley/stripe (trundlefart for those up on their genetics) but I don't want to add further confusion to this conversation.

Oh Nate, you just HAD to go there didncha? I LOVE trundlefarts and have 2 of them. :)

Post shed pic

Yup, a normal and a lavender.

I'd lean toward lavender mot. I think an anery mot would be MUCH darker.
Oh, I forgot I originally thought there was hypo there preshed, so I'm saying ghost mot. Still want to see the parents though.
I'm suprised a pied blood was sold with unknown hets, as it would be quite the sexy new and expensive morph 3 years ago.

Hey- I do, every year! I've got plenty of takers, too! :)

Well yes, but I have seen what you are working with. Technically they are normals but..they are SOOOOO not!!!
Not to mention it is well known around here what kind of a start you give your kiddos. Which of course reminds me that we need to talk about when my kiddo is coming! :)

:wavey: Hey Aries, I'm sorry if you think I'm a pain for asking again, could you please post photos of the parents? It really helps in some cases to figure out mystery hatchlings

Thanks Josh. I see no pied there. I also see hypo and ghost like I'd thought I would

J9, I am glad I am not the only one seeing that.
No mention of either anery or hypo in aries description of the parent's genetics though. But what do I know?
I can't tell Georgia from South Carolina so I must be colorblind as well! :p

Christen the parents are my Bloodred het pied male and my amel het charcal het lavender female. Took alot of time to get the right mix of genes.

You're not seeing pied because it is a bloodred het pied. ;) I too would like to see photos of the parents and know who he purchased them from as there are more genes floating around in there besides diffuse, amel, charcoal and lavender. OR...this clutch doesn't belong to those parents, i.e. a case of retained sperm, an honest mix-up of clutches in the incubator, misrepresented het genes by the seller of the parents, or lots of unknown hets that showed up. Any of these are definite possibilities.

But I see a ghost motley (MAY be a moonstone motley, but I haven't seen enough of those yet). Some of those pre-shed hatchlings may very well be lavenders. Those can be a tricky morph that young to identify sometimes.

I would like to see photos of all the hatchlings once they have shed as that will greatly help in the identification of the ones in question.

Dayum you are right Susan, he did say het pied!
For some reason there is no pied button on the corn calc, but I think that is becauses that gene is still somewhat of a mystery anyway. In 2011 Carol hatched out 3 low expression hypo blood pieds from her male ghost blood (can't remember if he had ever thrown pieds before) and my female hypo blood who showed no sign of pied at all.

I think that's because pied is a variable-expression gene- ranging from zero white expression, with just the patternless sides, to what we call high expression, in which the white still doesn't cross into the dorsal area though it may fill out the lateral area to a great extent. (I don't think we will ever see white cross into the dorsal area- but I could be wrong. Hope so!!)

Um, most people involved with colubrids don't slit their eggs. As far as the "nasty, hateful but coated in educational/ helpful responses"....I HAD tried to help you, I really did. Goddess knows you NEED help. I tried to give you the benefit of the doubt and you slapped me in the face. It appears that my initial feelings about you were the correct ones, and I am pretty sure I don't like you at all. So here is the deal....you go your way, I go mine. But if I EVER see you advertising babies for sale and misrepresenting them, I promise you I will let it be known. You know NOTHING about genetics.

Oh no i got more repremands so what as if i really care. This is no community just a place of business. Oh i have taken this and other comments and posted them everywhere online. You and everyone on here can ban together and say i am soooooo.. mean well when someone threatens me like this i will defend myself. Its sad when an individual that defends himself has to be given another slap on the wrist from the admins of this page because the instigator ---starsevol cant finish her own fight that she still insists to continue, even after i have stopped. Go ahead admins kick me off for defending myself. I just broke more rules, oh thats right they dont apply to people who pay you. So sorry.
