These are my favorite so far. Do you have any DIY instructions or pricing for the build of these types of units? That's melamine, right? I've heard it can be quite spendy, but it definitely looks/functions the best in the end, imho.

I built a small rack to fit 15l sterilites out of melamine. I think I paid $25 for a sheet of 1/2" 4'x8', so it wasn't bad at all...

THose racks are my favorites too :p My next rack will probably be something similar!

I'm curious how they're heated though... More pictures needed!! :p

I'm curious... I have my tanks on something similar but mines metal, however, two problems... One it's SUPER high, I can't get into the top tank without a chair, and I have trouble getting in and out of the bottom tanks because the shelf above blocks things.... What's the gap between the top of your tanks and the shelf above? and how high are your tanks?

We actually have two metal racks. One is the one with the 10 gal vivs on. It was from a store who was changing their racks over. The other one was similar to the black plastic one with the 20 gal vivs on it. But we couldn't fit two large tubs on it so Mike made the shelving unit and then used the plastic shelves from it. In order to reach the top vivs I use a step-ladder. I am only 5'1" so I am short. I can reach the tubs to pull them down. The BRB tub is big so it is a little heavier. I am not sure of the spacing. I will ask Mike to see if he remembers. The tanks are the typical 20 gal long vivs. The tubs are 32 qt sterilite if that helps.

@Jadie: where did you get the colorful salamander on your wall? I think I saw it in Sedona on holidays last year.

Nope, not mine. I was quoting Old_School and telling them that I thought they have an awesome setup + requesting specs and what not.

Old_School where'd you get your salamander?! The community demands an answer!

My snake room aka bedroom. Lol.

I keep Aly and Charlie in the tubs on the bottom of the rack.. Gauge is in the big cage.. and Kamalah and Keahi are in the round cups on top of the cage. (They've upgraded to larger containers already, so pic is a little out of date.) The rest of the shelves on the rack are for storage until my babies are big enough to go in it. :)

Ya know I have to say I absolutely loved seeing everyone's set ups from like a personal level. It's almost like I got to know you all just a wee tiny bit more. If you are like me, and I know you are, this is were a lot of heart and soul is placed. Old school I have been drooling over your set ups for a long time and Nanci the room you give your snakes, just awesome. I have the four melamine in my room which takes up that entire wall. I did purchase an ARS 7010 which is 41qt tubs but not sure what in the heck I am going to do with it. Oh my let me rephrase that... not sure where to put it. I truly like all my snakes in one room,. I do have a completely empty bedroom and perhaps I can move all of my snakes there but I spend soooo much time on my computer I like having my snakes in my computer room. Ah well.. my issues anyway. Just wanted to say I really enjoyed all of everyone's "SPACES"

It is really a simple build.. a rack that holds 12 tubs cost me $200 to build. It is made of melamine, purchased at home depot, or lowes. I purchase the 2' x 4' pieces as it is much easier to handle. I just built it 1 level at a time.

Thank you.. I started with just a couple (3) corns in totes on a bookshelf. then when I decided I needed a rack, i saw they were pretty costly, so I decided what better way to really enjoy the hobby than to build my own rack. I kept it simple and really enjoyed the work. Now I need to build something for my 6 ball pythons, but I may purchase something as I need it to be light weight and movable. :)

Okay, here are the measurements...the height between the shelves is 6 5/8 with the tubs being 6 1/2 so that leaves a gap of about 1/8-3/16 of an inch. The glass vivs are 12 1/2 inches high and the shelves are 15" from shelf to shelf and the gap between the top of the glass viv and next shelf is about 2 3/4". Hope this helps!

I got that at a store called "Home Goods". I paid $30.00 for it and love it. It is made of metal and the all the holes were burned in.

How did you heat it? is there flexwatt down the back? I guess that's why it looks so nice and finished is cause you used the prefinished pieces... very nice indeed...

The racks are not heated.. I maintain a room temp of 82 degrees. Contrary to what others claim, 82 degrees is all that is needed to be sucessfull with colubrids.. I do however brumate my breeders for 8 to 10 weeks at 55 degrees from mid November to mid Feb.
I also keep my Ball Pythons at that 82 degree temp also, but they are all juveniles. In another year I will place them in heated racks to assist in cycling them for breeding
please note at the above temps I do not have any problems with regurge or respitory problems and have excellent results in my colubrid breedings :)
