R.I.P Steve Irwin

I just watched one of the memorial videos thats circulating, Made by a member on here Oli... Its rather beautiful.

I am truley shocked at how much his death has effected me and so many others. There is a universal feeling of utter devistation. I sit on the bus in the morning and here old women talk of him, young boys talking about him, People of evey walk of life. Of course I say nothing when they start mixing facts, But the point is they KNEW of him...

It makes me feel better knowing that theres so much love and support out there for his dear family.

Blah, blah. I think this was completely uncalled for, the guy just died. In your other stupid poll thread you also said 'I don't give a rat's ass about Steve'. What an insensitive and bitter person you must be to act this way, the guy just died and is being mourned and remembered here by all of us. Why did you post here at all? I would have posted something about what you said on that other thread but I don't give a rat's ass about your stupid peach hypos. When someone dies it is just common courtesy to show a little respect. Your post on this thread disgusts me. Even if you felt that way you could have just kept it to yourself. How do you expect to breed and sell corns when you alienate all the potential customers by acting like a jerk?

BINGO!!!!!
So many wonderful breeders on here, who wants to buy from an "idot"?

I can't speak for Tula and the specific video she is talking about, but a couple of days ago I did a search on google and there were already a quite a few video tributes. I didn't watch any of them at the time, but they were there.
Just go to google and type in Steve Irwin and instead of doing a regular search, click on the video option (just like searching google for images only for video instead). Then hit enter and it will show you all the video clips associated with his name.

I was crushed when I heard about his death , I didn't believe it even after I read about it on CNN Monday morning ...
He was a great man a wonderful husband and father ..
The conservation and awareness he has done will be match by no man ...
I never thought it would get to me like this ... I think it has to do with Steve resparking my interest in reptiles and love for animals .. I will miss him dearly and he will be missed by many... My thoughts go out to Terri Bindi Bob and all of his family and friends .....

If you haven't Googled for "In memory of Steve Irwin" videos you should there are some very goods one there ....

RIP Steve-O

Another idea was for people to put a turtle in front of their msn name - code (tu)

(sample msn list)

I was shocked when my husband told me about Steve`s death, and I still can`t believe it! I guess I just don`t want to... He was my childhood idol, and such a great father, husband, and a great wildlife ambassador.. We decided to wear black ribbons to work for a week, in Steve`s honour.

My thoughts go out to Terri, Bindi and Bob...

..R.I.P Steve, your memory will always live on..

it is my oppion you dont have to agree with it so to all negitve comments to my post if you dont like lump it . bye bye!!!
C'mon, Vinman! There are few here who found Steve's show more annoying than I did. But you can temper your feelings with a little compassion and respect for the man's accomplishments. It would be disingenuine of me to come on here and say I loved him all along when in posts years ago I was his harshest critic. But you can't minimize his impact on preservation and kids' interest in herps today. And calling him an idiot is just... idiotic!

Here is the link to the video Elle mentioned I made.
Its not a videoing work of art but I want it to create the right image and views rather than have me nominated for video maker of the year.
I thought the music was rather fitting aswell.
Please watch and comment on pm me with your opinions.
many thanks
RIP Steve.

I can't imagine it would have been possible to experience boredom while being within 100 feet of him. The enthusiasm he projected, and created within others, is something that will live on in many people.

It was not only reptile conservation, it was everything! Some of Australias wildlife was passionatley restored by this guy...

Im sure your right serp that there was never a dull moment in his life! He experienced hardships and joys just like everyone else! The death of his parents, the birth of his children who he so fittingly named after such important things in his life. Im sure steve tought his daughter well, And I hope more than anything she continues his amazing work alongside Terri and hopefully someday, wee bob!

RIP big guy
