Rescued Iguana help!!!

Yup he is looking much better! Just gave him a nice soak and then rebandaged the parts that I want to keep clean and protected. Managed to pull off a foot bandage already, but I will let that one slide....its difficult to keep a bandage on there, and I don't want him to be immobilized for too long!

Grumpy iguana in the bathtub! Compare this picture to the first picture on the first page and you can see the improvements already.

It was mostly just old skin on his face but even all the nasty spots on his legs and tail are looking a lot better. My friend pulled all the nasty skin off so they're free to finally heal properly. He's looking green now, not all patchy! There will probably be scars though but better to have scars than to be dead.

Reading over the whole thread it's great to see his progress toward recovery! Good job getting him back on his feet. :) He's a lucky little fella!

The vet says that from the physical exam all she sees wrong is the spots on his skin like on the tail and back legs. Those she gave us some antibiotics for and said we should also continue with the polysporin. He didn't poop in time for the fecal although he does have poop in him. She did put him in warm water to try and get him to poop but that didn't work, so she gave the the cup so I can bring it in as soon as he poops. Hopefully that will come back clear of any parasites or whatever.

Well we did get his fecal exam done and it came back clear, no parasites or anything....but we found him dead this afternoon :( no idea why he died...

Oh no! I'm so sorry to hear that. :( I'm sure you guys did the best you could and that the last days of his life were pleasant! *HUGS*

Sorry to hear that! Least hopefully he was way more comfortable with you than wherever he'd been living before.

I'm sorry! Poor little guy. At least he had good care and didn't broil or freeze in a parking lot...Thank you for trying to save him.

I am so sorry! You tried so hard, and then to lose him. I agree with Nanci, though, that you gave him a great environment so at least he was comfortable, not suffering. Hopefully whatever happened was quick for him. Hugs to you & Gadzooks.
