My girlfriend and I went cruising the other night on the off-chance we might find some pretty little baby snakes. Wouldn't you know it, but we found nothing but baby snakes all night!!
We found 4 baby Panamint Rattlesnakes, all on the same corner, though at different times!!
And about 150' up the road, we saw a 5th baby Panamint, but this one was a bit darker:
These little things were so tiny and adorable...it really took every ounce of my strength not to reach out and pick them up. They were AWESOME!!
We also found several normal phase Western Longnose babies:
And I found what I believe to be a hypomelanistic Great Basin Gophersnake(P.c. deserticola). The pictures we took of him on the road do not show his coloration very well, so after he settles in to his new home in my bedroom, I will pull him out for some pictures. Has anyone ever heard of or seen a hypo deserticola before? I plan to raise him up and test breed him...see if it is a single recessive or not.
Thanks for Looking!
